Arrests  9/30/08

  Melany Merrell of Dortch Ln. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Jeff Buchanan was charged with evading arrest.

  Kevin Smothers of Oliver St., Anthony Peters and Cassandra Hobbs were arrested on Sunday.    Smothers was charged with filing a false report and simple possession.  Peters was held without bond and charged with criminal trespassing and failure to appear.  Hobbs was  charged with filing a false report.

  Steven Batts of was charged with public intoxication.

  Vicki Decker of Puryear was charged with public intoxication.

  Christopher  Rice of Springville was charged with domestic assault.

  Terry Jackson of Yates Rd. was possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Timothy Creek of Hardy St. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Steven Teague of Pitt St. was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent to sell.

  Bruce Miller of Springville was charged with assault.

  Kurt Stafford of Head St. was charged with a 2nd driving on a revoked driver's license.

  Nichole Turner of Nashville was charged with

  Dennis Duncan of Henry was charged with a 3rd driving on a revoked driver's license for a DUI.

  Lacy  Carie of N Market St. was charged with domestic assault.

  Kenneth Holder of Jackson was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Shannon Mullins of Harrison Meadows charged on an attachment .

     An animal running at large was reported to the sheriff's office.  A pit Bull on Rowe School Rd killed a neighbor dog.  The brenal colored dog was found with blood on his mouth while the neighbor's dog was found dead.

   

Arrests  9/27/08

  George Bishop of Bethpage TN was held without bond charged with failure to appear.

  Shawn Combs of Dunlap St. was charged with  theft of property.

  Denna Johnson of S. Poplar St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Clint Raymer of Crutchfield Ln. was charged with public intoxication. 

 

Arrests  9/26/08

 

   Jeffrey Wilson of Dunlap St. was arrested on a warrant for vandalism and possession of legend drugs.

  Jesse Wolf of Lakeview Manor Rd. was held without bond on2 counts of worthless checks , failure to appear and burglary.

  Lisa King of Big Sandy was held without bond and charged with theft of property. 

     A field fire was reported on Chandler Rd.   As of last count 40 acres had been burned.   

Arrests  9/25/08

  On Tuesday, Sept. 23 Investigators with the Metro Crime Unit, Henry County Sheriff's Office and the Paris Police Department  arrested Brian O. Tolley and Edgar A. Pierce of Big Sandy. The arrests stem from an investigation conducted by the Metro Crime Unit in which Brian Tolley was being investigated due to his going to local pharmacies  and obtaining different pain killers by fraudulent means.  Tolley   was obtaining the scripts under an elderly  patients name.  He was observed by officers leaving a local pharmacy  and a traffic stop was done.  Tolley was found in possession of Hydrocodone pills and was charged with possession of a scheduled 2 controlled substance with intent to sell  The driver of the vehicle, Edgar Pierce, was charged with possession of Darvocet, a scheduled 4 controlled substance  and 7 counts of forgery.

  Other arrests inludeDaniel Mockabb of Wynn St with criminal trespassing, burglary and theft under $500.

  Crystal Mayo of Irvin St. was stopped at the old Puryear School along with Robert Robinson  of Wynn St. and  charged with criminal trespassing, burglary and theft of property.

  Chasden Dunn of Spurowl Heights Rd. was charged with theft of property over $500.

  Rick Allen of N. Wilson  St. was held without bond and arrested on a capias out of Circuit Court for failure to appear.

  Meredith Taconi of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with theft of property over $1.000 and burglary.

  Brenda Helms of S. Highland St. was charged with  theft of property over $1,000 and burglary.

  103 bales of hay, valued at $45 each, were stolen from a barn on 3 Bridges Rd.   

          

Arrests  9/24/08

  On Monday Sept. 22 at 11:54am Deputy Jamie Myrick with the Henry County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a Pontiac Grand Am for speeding on Old Paris Murray Road.  At this time the vehicle failed to stop  and Myrick initiated a pursuit .  After a short pursuit  both the driver and the passenger fled on foot into a wooded area .  Deputy Myrick was able to catch the driver, identified as Diondre Ash.  Ms Ash was arrested for felony evading, speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license.  At this point a perimeter was set up on Old Paris  Murray Rd.  and Megan Lane .  During the investigation Melissa Arnold  was stopped and arrested  for trying to assist the suspects from being apprehended.  With the assistance of the 24th Judicial helicopter  pilot Milt Young and General Hansel McCadams the final suspect, Keith Jennifer was taken into custody at approx 7:30am and charged with evading arrest.  The incident is pending further investigation by the Metro Crime Unit. 

Arrests  9/23/08

  Joshua Robertson of Murray was charged by Puryear police Chief Paschall with driving without a driver's license and .

  Alice  Bailey of Jones Bend Rd. was charged with underage consumption.

  Darrell Ward of Cooper St. was charged with domestic assault and possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Robert Long of Gleason was charged with aggravated burglary and public intoxication  and simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Arrested with Long was Michael Sherron of Gleason who was charged with aggravated burglary, public intoxication, simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Crystal Ritor of Reynolds St. was charged at HCMC with domestic assault   

  Orlando Corrille of N.  Lake St. was charged with DUI, driving on a suspended driver's license, leaving the scene of an accident and simple possession.

  Justin Barnhart of McKenzie was held without bond and charged with domestic assault.

  James Nored of Byrd Rd. was charged with public intoxication.

  Jonathan Goode of Ripley TN was charged with failure to appear.

  John Hoskins of Hwy 79S was held without bond and charged with domestic assault and possession of a prohibited weapon by Police Chief Dale Paschall of Puryear.  Arrested with him was Amber Lowery of Spring Hill Rd. who was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

  Lilah Shults of Murray  was charged with underage possession and consumption.   

Arrests  9/20/08

     Jeffrey  Neese of Whitlock Rd. was charged with a 6th driving on a revoked driver's license.

  Tonyaka Lark of McKenzie was charged with violating of probation and picked up on a mittimus.

  Jefferson Freeman of Reynolds St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license and use of an off road vehicle on a roadway.

  James Horalt of Elkhorn Nobles Rd. was charged with public intoxication.

  Shane Lindley of Puryear was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Adam Beasley of Puryear, Bobby Abney of Puryear, Ashley Kaminski of Mandalay Rd.  and Christopher Nissen of Arizona were arrested by Officer  Watson at Eagle Food Store where the officer smelled marijuana.  They denied having or smoking the pot but officers discovered several bags on the floor and seat of the vehicle.  Abney was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 dug with intent and possession of drug paraphernalia.   Beasley, Kaminski and  Nissen were charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

  The Sheriff's Office received a report of the Morris Family Cemetery disappearing .  Located in Puryear the family plots were bought by a new owner who didn't know the cemetery existed since there were no head stones.  Several depressions in the ground mark the graves and the owner said that they could make more permanent arrangements to recognize the cemetery. 

Arrests  9/19/08

  Lisa Winscott of W. Wood St. was charged with failure to appear.

  Amy Coleman of Camden was charged with  violation of probation and 2 counts of violation of the bad check law.

  Daniel Underwood of Puryear was charged with theft of property and driving without a driver's license.  He drove off without paying for gas at the Tackle Box and when stopped he didn't have a driver's license.  H originally told the store owner he would  be back the next day to pay the $50.00 until it was discovered he had no ID.

   

Arrests  9/18/08

  On Tuesday Sept. 16 the Metro Crime Unit, Henry County sheriff's office and the Paris Police Department searched 3100 Old McKenzie Hwy. when officers received a tip that marijuana was being grown at the residence.  Officers found a marijuana plant growing at the residence .  Jeffrey Page, 46, of Old McKenzie Hwy was charged with manufacture of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  A shotgun was found at the residence.  Also charged was Kenneth Caron, 49, also of the Old McKenzie Hwy residence who was charged with manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of firearms during the commission of a felony.  Caron was found in possession of approx. 3 ounces of marijuana and several firearms.

  Amy Hancock of Hwy 79N was held without bond and charged with  failure to appear

  Dustin Morris of Big Sandy was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.

  Samuel Knott Jr. of Sunrise Dr. was charged with theft of property over $1,000.

  Melinda Martin of Murfreesboro was charged with forgery.

  James McCathy, 25, of Springville  was charged with harassment. 

Jonathan Cosno of Oak Drive was held without bond and charged with assault.

Cold Case Status update on Etta Ethridge & Glenn Foster Homicides

Synopsis
 
The Paris Police Department responded to 322 Rison St. in Paris TN at 9:49 PM Friday night June 8 2001 after receiving a 911 call from Lois Crump 333 Rison St. saying Ms Ethridge was laying on the floor. Douglas Talley knocked on the Crump door and asked them to call 911 for him. Douglas Talley who lived in the home at the time had returned home and found Ms. Ethridge on the floor and she did not respond when he called her name.
 
The on-scene investigation discovered the body of Ms. Ethridge in her home, she was deceased. The scene showed obvious signs of a struggle and the victim showed signs of physical assault. The details of the assault remain secured as a means of information verification when tips are received. There were no signs of forced entry to the home. Ms. Ethridge is the victim homicide.
 
Gov. Don Sundquist offered a $ 2500.00 reward at the time this crime was reported. The status of the first reward is unknown at this time.

Synopsis
 
 
The Paris Police Department responded to 711 McCampbell St. at 11:36 AM December 15 2004 after receiving a call of an open door being discovered there. Charlotte Duncan telephoned the police and notified us she and Terry Summerville had returned to her home. Ms Duncan rented a room to Mr. Foster. Officers entered the home and found Mr. Foster laying on the floor between two couches. Mr. Foster was dead. 
 
It was determined that Mr. Foster was the victim of a homicide. There were no signs of a struggle or forced entry discovered at the crime scene. Mr. Foster was the victim of gunshot. The details of the gunshot remain secured as a means of information verification when tips are received. There were no signs of forced entry to the home.

  Adam Fowler of Humboldt was charged with DUI.

  Brian Roberts of Hwy 69 was stopped on India Rd. and charged with speeding and DUI.

  Kevin Doeae of Hwy  641 was charged with DUI by consent on India Rd. 

  Heater Pierpoint was charged on an attachment with  public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Dennis Tate of Lexington TN was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Ray Patton of Jenkins St. was held without bond for violation of probation.

  Brian Coleman of Depot St. was charged with underage drinking.

  Jared Anscouch of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Anderson Johnson of Brewer St. was charged with public intoxication.

 John Webb of Riggins St. was held without bond as a juvenile from justice.

  Walter Bowden of Vandyke Rd. and Jason Lamb of Henry were stopped on Brewer St. and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and simple possession of a scheduled 2 drug.

     Officers received a tip that there were 6 or more horses in a field near Puryear with obvious signs of being malnurished.

Arrests  9/12/08

  A juvenile was charged with assault at Henry County High School by the School Resource Officer when the youth started a fight with another student in the hall of the school

  Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew reported that during the month of July a total of 151 prisoners were housed in the Henry county Correctional Facility on average  per day.  56 of those were state prisoners who generated $54,933.00 in revenue from the state of TN to the Henry County General Fund.

  Harold Fuller of Memphis was held without bond on 3 counts of violation of probation and on a capias.

  Sherry Lowe of Whiskey Ridge Rd. was charged with violation of sentence.

  Randy Johnson of Chickasaw was held without bond on  2 counts of failure to appear in KY and as a fugitive from justice.

  Robert Dildine of Martin was charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment on W. Wood St.

  Joe Green of Brown Ln. was charged with evading arrest.

  Jonathan Travis of Mandalay Rd. was charged with theft of property under $500.

  Leslie Florance of Bruceton was charged with promotion of the manufacture of meth., a class D felony.

     A juvenile was loud and disruptive at Grove School when asked to remove a nose and lip ring

  

   

Arrests  9/10/08

    Gregory Smith of Mansfield was arrested on warrants for harassment and violation of the worthless check law.

The Money Tree on Mineral Wells Ave. was broken into.  Entry was made thru a door on the west side of the building where a rock was thrown thru the glass.    The phone lines were also cut and cabinets gone thru.  Approx.  $200 was taken from Petty Cash.  Finger prints and photos were taken by Paris PD.

     The Henry County Co-Op  reported receiving a counterfeit $10 bill. 

Arrests  9/9/08

     Scarlet Richards of Old McKenzie Hwy. was stopped on Mineral Wells and charged with DUI.

  Rita Agesino of Pinewood Dr. was charged with  simple possessing of a scheduled 6 drug.  Officers reported smelling burning marijuana in the residence when they arrived to serve a warrant.

  Mark Stewart of Thompson St. was charged with public intoxication.

  Randal Boyd of Mason Ave. was held without bond in a capias.

  Daryl Jackson of Hidden Acres was charged with theft of property.

  Robert Boyd of W. Wood St. was charged with domestic assault.

  Jason Corbjn of Puryear was charged with DUI.

  Felicia Franks of Mandalay Rd. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

  Charles Curdis of Murray was arrested on Hwy 641 by Puryear Police Chief Paschall for public intoxication.

  Jeremy Pukert was charged with public intoxication.

  David Ramer of Ft. Campbell was arrested in the parking lot of  the Spider Web and charged with disorderly conduct.

  Tools and other items valued at over $1,00 were reported stolen from a residence on Forrest Ln.

  Over 2500 lbs. of scrap metal were reported stolen from a residence on Hwy 54.

  Officers responded to an anonymous tip on Nanney Rd. where they found 2 pots containing  3 growing Marijuana plants off to the side of the road.  Deputies were aided by K-9 Casey.  The incident is still under investigation. 

    

Arrests  9/6/08

  On Thursday Cpl. William Mellon and Deputy Jamie Myrick responded to 1150Crestview Circle in reference to marijuana being found at the residence.  Contact was made with home owner Jack Kirkpatrick .  Officers could smell marijuana burning and were given permission to search the residence where they located several roaches  and , approx. 73.2 grams of marijuana  in baggies and digital scales. Kilpatrick was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Darren Sturtevant of Elmore  St. was held without bond and charged with violation of probation and failure to appear.

  Israel Schwartz of Parsons Tn was charged with failure to appear.

  Mark Stewart of Thomas St. was charged with public intoxication.

  Mark Strudivant of Thomas St. was charged with public intoxication.

Danielle Bailey of Dayton TX was charged with shoplifting at  Wal-Mart and possession of Legend drugs.

      Darian Sandler of Logan Rd. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

  Carl Wofford of Whitehall Circle was charged with aggravated gambling promotion.

  Patrica Mayor of Cortney Circle was charged with aggravated gambling promotion.

  

Arrests  9/5/08

     On Wednesday the Metro Crime Unit along with  the Henry County Sheriff's office and the Paris Police Department  executed a search warrant at 100 Guthrie Rd., the home of Rodger Wallace Jr., where officers found 2 pounds of marijuana and digital scales.  He was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

David Cook of Dunlap St. was charged with public intoxication.

  Israel Schwartz of Parsons was charged with failure to appear.

Gary Coleman of Fairground Rd. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  John Schaefer of Rowe School Rd. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license and leaving the scene.

  Raymond  Lamar of Henry was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Shanen Pieglitosh ob Big Sandy was  charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Dustin Norwood of Springville was held without bond for violation of sentence.

  Joseph Bydell  of Thompson St. was charged with driving without a driver's  license and violation of the seat belt law.

  Joann Williams of Routon St. was charged with theft of property over $500.

  Joshua Gallimore of Patterson St. was  held without bond  and charged with theft of property.

  Bruce Parker of Stewart TN was charged with failure to appear.

  Jeffery Adkins of Sedalia KY was arrested on a warrant and charged with vandalism.

  Brittany Jackson was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution.  She is accused of attempting to smuggle 4 grams of marijuana in 2 bas hidden in deodorant and other items for an inmate on August 30.  

Arrests  9/3/08

  Anthony Rusler of Thomas St. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 2 drug,  simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

  Rodney Honper, 23, of Madison TN was held without bond and charged with failure to appear on evading arrests charges and aggravated assault.

  James Harper of  Logan Rd. was held without bond and charged with violation of probation.

  Kimberly Wilson of Routon St. was charged with violation of probation.

  Jeffery Patton of College St. was arrested on a capias.

  Shalene of Market St was charged  with filing a false report.

  Anderson Johnson of Brewer St. was charged with  public intoxication.

  Deshar Ray of Jenkins St. was charged with theft of property under $500.

  Charles Patton of Buie Bay was held without bond and charged with domestic assault.

  Teresa Dunlap of Harrison Ln. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

  Dustin Traby of Greenville TN was charged with violation of probation.

  Oneal Williams of County Hospital Rd. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at the corner of Jenkins and Blythe St.

  Angie Copeland  of Dresden was charged on 641N by Puryear Police Chief Paschall with DUI, possession of legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Ronald Baldwin of Alamo KY was charged with BUI at Paris Landing by TWRA Officer Clay Riley.

  Richard Lowe of Whiskey Ridge Rd was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault.

  Robert Williams of Irvine St. was charged with criminal impersonation.

  Vincent Boldon of Blythe St. was arrested on Brewer St. for possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication  

     A house fire was reported over the holiday weekend on Lori Lane  The resident said he saw smoke when he returned from a neighbors house.  He belies he may have left the grease on after frying French fries and then left the house.

  An accident with injuries by the Co-Op had traffic stopped and block at at around 11:30am Tuesday morning.
