Arrests 11/30 Kathy Simpson of Minor St. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 2 drug. Janet Shaw of Cottage Grove was held without bond for child abuse and reelect out of Juvenile Court. Monica Hudterson, 37, of Wood St. was charged with violation of probation. Victoria Taylor, 30, of Hill Rd. was domestic assault. Christopher Cowin of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with theft of property. Aaron Baker, 31, of Huntingdon was charged with violation of probation. Joshua Gallimore of Patterson St. was charged with aggravated burglary. Roger Samples of Jeffrey Cove was held without bond and charged with violation of probation. Ben Matthews of Buchanan was held without bond on charges of domestic assault.

Arrests 11/28/07 Roger Wallace Jr. of Guthrie Rd. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. Reginald Wiseman of Powell St. was arrested on Riggins St. for public intoxication. Thomas Miller of Grove Rd. was charged with failure to appear. Heathfen Garrett of Cottage Grove was charged with vandalism. Samuel Gillson of Hickory Grove Acres was held without bond and charged with 2 counts of violation of probation and failure to appear.
Gary Dueland Jr. of Melissa Dr. was arrested on Logan Rd. and charged with a 2nd DUI, speeding, violation of the implied consent law, violation of the open container law and violation of the seat belt law. He was clocked doing 65 to 70 miles per hour on Hwy 641N and when he finally pulled over for officers they had to knock on the window of the vehicle to get him to roll it down. Dueland had an open bottle of vodka with him and when asked to perform field sobriety tests he told the officer No - stating , " I am not stupid." Gold and diamond jewelry was stolen from a room at the Paris Landing Inn. The Nashville woman stated that she had left the numerous pieces of jewelry setting out in the room.
Arrests 11/27/07 Two arrests were made in the shooting death of Loren Fritts. Fritts was shot on Saturday night near the intersection of Hagler's Ridge Rd. and Atchison Ln. Fritts received a gunshot to the upper torso area and was pronounced dead at the scene by Corner Danny Tucker. Charged with 1st degree murder and held without bond was Thomas Wesley Chapman of Big Sandy and charged with accessory after the fact was Jonathan Ross Peach of Springville. Recovery efforts for the weapon are still underway with the help of the TWRA K-9 units and the Henry County Rescue Squad. "I am very pleased that arrests have been made in such a timely manner." stated Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew. "This would not have been possible without all agencies involved and I want to especially thank the Big Sandy Police Department." Arrests 11/23/07 John Dolly of MI was stopped on Hwy 69S and charged with DUI. Marcus Puckett of Barlett TN was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Raymond Morse II of Grove St. was stopped on Lone Oak Rd. and charged with DUI. Tommi Blackman of Memphis was arrested on Market St. and charged with criminal impersonation. John Bucy of Buchanan was charged with violation of probation.
Arrests 11/22/07 Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew reported that during the month of September an average of 167 prisoners were housed in the Henry County Correctional Facility per day. 56 of those prisoners were state prisoners generating $53,404.00 in revenue from the state of Tennessee to the Henry County General Fund. The Inmate Commissary generated $1,429.29 in revenue and the Inmate receivables generated $3,251.03 in revenue to the General Fund for the month. Sheriff's officer served 1,005 criminal and civil papers. 37 arrests and citations were issued for driving violations. 10 motorists were charged with DUI and 20 persons were revoked or suspended driver's license. 4 vehicles were seized due to drivers driving while intoxicated or on revoked driver's license. The Metro Crime Unit and the Henry County Sheriff's office made 41 drug arrests and seized $1,858.77, one vehicle and one cell phone. Deputy cruisers traveled 67,770 miles while on patrol, transporting prisoners to state institutions and juveniles to detention facilities, answering citizen complaints, serving criminal and civil papers and performing other official functions. 842 businesses, schools and residences were checked during the month. Deputies found no open doors. The Criminal Investigations Division opened 72 cases. 47 cases were suspended, 25 were closed and 12 were arrested. The Henry County High School Resource Officer made 7 misdemeanor arrests and citations, 10 reports and 19 complaints. 9 requests for counseling were also received. The officer attended 6 after school events. The County Wide Resource/DARE Officer made 2 misdemeanor arrests and citations, 1 felony arrest, 2 reports and 2 complaints. 16 requests for counseling were also made. The officer attended 3 after school events. Jeffery Archie of Red Oak Dr. was held without bond and charged with domestic assault. Ralph Smith of Jackson was held without bond on charges of domestic assault. Ronald Pate of McKenzie was charged with failure to appear. Davis Stevenson of Kingston Springs was arrested at McDonalds for driving on a revoked driver's license. Brian Glisson of Henry was arrested at the probation office and charged with violation of probation and held without bond. A 4-wheeler was reported taken without permission from Lakeview Manor Dr. The owner stated that Garron Crafton had taken the 4 wheeler several months ago and never brought it back. Arrests 11/21/07 Earnest Herren of Routon St. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Anthony Peters of Memorial Dr. was charged with violation of probation. Benjamin Enoch of Clifty Rd. was held without bond for domestic assault. Terrel Cowan of Bolin St. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the seat belt law. The arrest occurred when Cowan was observed driving without a seatbelt on. He was pulled over at Scott's Tire. 2 glass smoking pipes were found on him. Theft and vandalism were reported at a mobile home on Old Union Rd. the electric service had been cut and the wire cut. The door had also been pried open. Nothing was found missing but the hot water heater had been destroyed. Arrests 11/20/07 There were 10 arrests over the weekend for underage drinking. Most involved Murray State students who were caught by Puryear Police Chief Dale Paschall behind the buildings of the 641 Club and the Spider Web on Hwy 641N. Thomas Zwirlein of Reynoldsburg Rd. was arrested at Wal-Mart and charged with robbery. Stephen Hilt of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with burglary. Jemel Kinley of Cooper St. was arrested on Hwy 69N for disorderly conduct. Larry Ainscough of Lone Oak Rd. was arrested on E. Wood St. for DUI. Robert Kilpatrick of Murray was arrested on Jones Bend Rd. ad charged with DUI. Christopher Presson of Shell Academy Rd. was arrested on a warrant for violation of the bad check law. Misti Townsend of Henry was held without bond as a fugitive from justice. Barbara Wood of Camden was charged at HCMC for theft over $500. Evenly Cason of Florida was held without bond for failure to appear. Mandy Drew of Springville was charged with theft of property under $500.
Arrests 11/16/07 Danichales Caldwell of Henry was held on a no contact bon on 3 counts of statutory rape. Thomas Rose of River Oaks Dr. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. Antonio Sabato of Murray was charged with shop lifting. Annie Tomlin and William Tomlin both of Dover were charged at Smith Tire Barn each were charged with 3 counts of burglary and theft under $500. Meshica Nored of Allen Ave. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. David Carper of Buchanan Rd. was arrested on an attachment. Sherry Dean of W. Wood St. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. Loren Fritts, 29, of Buchanan Rd. and Brenda Phiefer of Big Sandy were arrested at Duncus Hill Trailer Park and charged with possession of legend drugs. Officers had received information that there was drug activity at the residence. When the officers arrived no one would answer the door but several subjects could be seen running through the house. When the door was finally opened officers received permission to search the residence for narcotics and found a small bag of pills hidden behind a toilet. 2 cars n the Auto Bargain Lot on Hwy 79N were broken into. 2 CD players and speakers were taken. Property in Springville was vandalized and a digital deer camera mounted in a tree was taken and a Nova car had been moved plus a cable across the entrance to the property had been cut. Arrests 11/15/07 Terrell Cowan of Bolin St. was arrested at Harrison Apts. for criminal trespassing. Fly Davis of Harrison Ln was charged on an attachment out of Juvenile court. David Perry of McFadden St. was held without bond for violation of sentence. Terry Jackson of Cooper St. was held without bond on a pick up mittimus out of juvenile court. Steven Teague of Pitt St. was held without bond per a mittimus for contempt out of juvenile court. Jason Smith of Hill Rd. was held without bond for violation of sentence. Joshua Johnson was held without bond for violation of sentence. Phillip Jenkins of Cole Fairway was arrested at the probation office for violation of probation. Dustin Morris of Buchanan was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. He was also cited for speeding and violation of the seat belt law. The arrest occurred when Morris was clocked doing 92 in a 65 mph zone on Hwy 79 by the Tackle Box. When asked if he had been arrested before he told officers yes on Meth charges. He denied consent to search to search and K-9 Stryker was called in and found the marijuana and a smoking pipe. The coils from AC units at the old Paris Manor Nursing Home were found missing from central units and window units. B&G Equipment call the Henry County Sheriff's Office reporting an employee who was making threats. When officers arrived they were told that the employee was off his medicines and had been threatening to do harm to himself and others. He was admitted to the 4th floor of HCMC. Arrests 11/15/07 Danny Trotter of Harmon Cemetery Rd. was charged as a fugitive from justice. Randel Boyd of Indiana was charged with violation of probation. Charles Williams of Willow Oak Rd., Kelly Hatch of Huntingdon and Renicia Williams of Lexington were arrested on Pearl St. and charged with possession of a scheduled 2 drug with intent.. Marcus McCleanon of Shelbyville was charge with 4 counts of violation of probation. A Russian hand gun was reported stolen from the cab of a pick up truck in Buchanan.
Arrests 11/14/07 Michelle Cox of Chickasaw St. was held without bond at the jail for public indecency and indecent exposure. John Casey of Cottage Grove was charged with theft under $500. A juvenile was charged with assault at Grove School by the school resource officer after the student threatened to call the principal and the resource officer. A chain saw and a welder were stolen from a shop on Copper Springs Rd. The welder was later discovered at the pawn shop. Arrests 11/13/07 On Saturday the Henry County Sheriff's Office, the TBI and the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force arrested 36 year old Walter Davis, of Lakeview Manor Rd. in Springville. Davis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, anhydrous, for use and theft of property over $1,000. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation that ended with an indictment being handed down from the Henry County Grand Jury last week for Davis's arrest. Davis was involved in another incident Saturday night when he called 911 and reported that someone had just shot at him through the back door . Davis stated that he was in his kitchen when a shot was fired at his house. The bullet went through the window and hit an arm chair in the living room. He stated that when he looked out he saw a female with a crazed look in her eyes in the yard and was laughing, saying she was the law.. Officers did a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle on Hwy 69A and located a small caliber hand gun on the passenger side floor board. Arrested in the incident by Investigator David Doyle was 44 year old Joy Thurman of Haglerridge Rd. in Springville. Thurman was charged with criminal attempt to commit 1st degree murder and is being held without bond. The driver of the vehicle, 56 year old Floyd Parsons Sr. also of Haglerridge Rd. was charged with accessory after the fact. There were no injuries in the incident Other arrests over the weekend included Mary Mitchell of Guthrie Rd. for DUI. Ronald Jackson of Nashville for theft of property David Carper of Buchanan was held without bond for domestic assault. Tammy Greenhill of Dunlap St. was charged with DUI on E. Wood St. On Saturday Bill Borum of McKenzie was charged with public intoxication on Ruff St. Brittany Goodman of MS was held without bond for failure to appear. Christopher Parker, 20, of Alamo TN was charged on Hwy 641S with underage consumption. Also arrested was Jeffery Long, 21, of Halls TN and charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Randy Evans of Mansfield was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license on Hwy 69S. Jon Wilson of Lone Oak Rd. was arrested at Wal-Mart for criminal trespassing. Juan Paz of Cook St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Dave Jackson of Dresden was held without bond for violation of an order of protection . Dianna Miles and Anthony Miles both of Mays Bridge Rd. were arrested Friday . Dianna was held without bond for domestic assault. Anthony was arrested by City Limits Bar and charged with domestic assault. Jeffery Hudson of Brown St. was charged with violation of an order of protection. Melissa Jones of Springville was arrested at Scott's Mart and charged with theft under $500. Vella Reed of Riggins St. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Gary Cooper of Benton Co. was on Hwy 641 by the by the state line in Hazel and charged with a felony evading arrest, DUI and possession of a scheduled 6 drug. Cooper was seen to be traveling own the wrong side of the road with no lights on and when officers activated their blue lights he slowed down as if to stop. As officers approached he turned on his headlights and sped up reaching speeds of 70 mph. As he approached Puryear city limits he continued to veer off into oncoming traffic. When he finally stop by State Line Rd. he smelled strongly of alchol. He was asked to recite the alphabet but could not, which officers reported would be expected of a high school graduate.
Arrests 11/10/07 David Mernard, 18, of Murray was held without bond and charged with aggravated sexual battery. The arrest was the result of an investigation into allegations that Mernard had unlawful sexual contact with an 11 year old female in Henry County on Saturday Nov. 3 2007. Matthew Parker of Murray, Alex Waggoner of Murray, Anna McCullough of Cadiz KY and Alexandria Norsworthy of Murray were arrested at Greenwood Cemetery Rd. and Hwy 69 when the vehicle was stopped for having on rear brake or tail lights. The 4 stated they were lost and they smelled of alcohol. A search by K-9 Casey found marijuana in the shoe of on one of the passengers. Waggoner was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Parker was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. McCullough and Morsworthy were charged with underage possession and consumption. Tony Boyd of Ossie St. was charged as a fugitive from justice out of KY. William Crick of Claire Dr. was held without bond on a capias. Arrests 11/9/07 The Henry County Sheriff's office, the Paris Policed Department and the Metro Crime Unit executed a search warrant Wednesday at 702 Mandalay Rd. Officers had received information that cocaine being stored and stored at the residence. Officers located approx. 14 grams of cocaine and 2 baggies of marijuana. $385 was also seized in drug proceeds. Charged was Brandon Foster with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and possession of marijuana. Canine Marlin assisted in the search. Other arrests included Arroyo Ray of Depot St. who was held without bond on a capias. James Presson of Mayfield was charged with forgery. Jonathan Peach of Hwy 69S was arrested on a warrant for theft of property under $500. Gene Logue of Magnolia Apts was charged with aggravated assault. Nell Thompson of Claytontown Rd. was charged with tampering with evidence. Ray Ryan of Camden was charged with vandalism. A push lawn mower was reported stolen from Dunlap St. . Arrests 11/8/07 On Monday the Henry County Sheriff's offices and the Department of Children's Services investigate a report of a 6 year old male being possibly physically abused. The investigation found that the child had suffered bruising and marks to the face and neck as a result of child abuse. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the child's mother Leticia Johnson, 26 of Henry who was charged with Felony child abuse and neglect. She was arraigned Tues in General Sessions Court. Also arrested was her live in boyfriend Adrian Teague,29, and arraigned Thursday. The child has been placed with relatives out of town. Other arrests included Mark Thompson of McKenzie was arrested and held by the McKenzie Police for violation of probation out of circuit court. Jeremy Hart of Thompson St. was failure to appear. Cynthia Galindo of Cottage Grove was charged with possession of a legend drug, possession of a scheduled 2 drug and possession of a scheduled 4 drug. Arrests 11 7/07 Bradley Clark of Sloan Rd. was arrested at the Parole office for violation of parole. Billy Melton, 29, of Thompson St. was arrested on warrants for a 3rd DUI with injury to a child, vehicle assault, a 2nd driving on a revoked and use of an off highway vehicle on a roadway. Leticia Johnson of Henry was charged at Henry County Medical Center with child abuse. Ronald Samples of Jeffery's Cove was charged at the jail with introduction of contraband into a penal institution and is being held without bond. James Presson of Hwy 77 was charged at a fugitive from justice. Nicole Rogers was charged with violation of probation out of Benton Co. A jewelry box and clothing were reported stolen from a residence on Mason Ln. A metal safe containing cash and 30 to 40 coins was reported stolen from a McKenzie residence was reported. The back door had been pried open. Arrests 11/6/07 Vonda Hamilton of Powell St. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. Kenneth Stevenson of Hwy 69S was held without bond for violation of probation out of circuit court. Randall Argo of KY was stopped on Hwy 641N and charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Virginia Beldon of Ill was held without bond on a capias for DUI. Anna Warwick of Buchanan was charged with domestic assault. Stacy Coleman of Lone Oak Rd. was stopped on Pennsylvania Ave. for DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Janis Cuthbertson of Porter Switch was stopped on Hwy 77 and charged with DUI along with Charlie Cuthberthson who was also charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Brooke Singleton of Wood St. was arrested on an attachment. Valerie Adamson of Arkansas was held without bond for violation of probation. Jason Booth of Dunlap St. was charged with public intoxication on Guthrie Rd. and possession of drug paraphernalia. Amanda Ballard of Camden was arrested at the Sunshine Inn on Wood St. with Brandy Fesmire of Herron TN and David Busby of Camden. Ballard was charged with public intoxication. Brandy was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Busby was changed with underage consumption. Jeffery Hudson of Brewer St. was charged with phone harassment. While serving a jail sentence the residence on Guthrie Rd. was robbed. Taken was an X-box, items from Rent A Center, computer and several pieces of jewelry. No forced entry was found. Mail with a name and address was found in a pile of trash and garbage in a field off of Hwy 140. Arrests 11/3/0ton7 Angela Williams of Guthrie Rd. was charged with failure to appear out of General Sessions Court. Justin Claymore of Willobey Rd. was charged with theft under $500. Kendall Hurt of Garland Ave was arrested at Wal-Mart with theft under $500 The theft of a 2 ton heating/cooling unit at a mobile home in Springville. The unit was valued at $2,000. The electrical box of a house on Blackberry Lane was reported to have been tampered with. Arrests 11/2/07 Raymond Watkins of Murray was held without bond and charged with public intoxication. Joseph Coleman of Hwy 77 was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Christopher Kinley of Cooper St. was charged with violation of probation. Michael Tharpe of Routon St. was charged with violation of probation. Jerry Mobley of Puryear was charged with violationof parole. 2 juveniles were cited into Juvenile court after they were caught passing a scheduled 4 drug at Henry County High School. The pills were in a baggie. Theft of tools from a barn on Robin Hill Loop was reported to the Sheriff's office on Wednesday. Arrests 11/1/07 Gina Kessler of Springville was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. On Tuesday members of the Metro Crime Unit, Henry County Sheriff's Office and the Paris Police Department executed a search warrant at 370 Guthrie Rd. Officers had received information of drugs being stored at the residence. Officers located marijuana, crack cocaine and digital scales at the residence. $700 in drug proceeds was also seized along with a handgun. Officers charged Angela S Williams and Horace McNeary, both of Guthrie Rd. with possession of cocaine base with intent to sell, possessionof parijuana with intent to sell and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Canines Elgos and Buddy assisted in the search.
