Arrests 6/30/08 In a report from the Henry County Sheriff's Office for the month of April Sheriff Monte Belew reported that an average of 158 prisoners were housed in the Henry County Correction Facility per day. 62 of those prisoners were state prisoners generating $61,609 in revenue from the state of Tennessee for the Henry County General Fund. The Inmate Commissary generated $1,159 in revenue and the Inmate Receivables generated $2,650. in revenues for the county general fund. 6 motorist were charged with DUI and 2 vehicles were seized due to divers drivers driving under the influence. The Metro Crime Unit and the Henry County Sheriff's Office made 34 drug arrests. 740 business, homes and schools door were checked by officers in the county and deputies found no doors open. The Henry County High School Resource officer made 4 misdemeanor arrests and citations. He attended 2 after school events. The county wide resource / DARE officer taught 5 Teen Summit classes. Arrests 6/27/08 2 lawnmowers were vandalized on India Rd. The resident stated that he had a lawn mowing business and someone had poured something into the gas tanks of the mowers and his truck. Damage was estimated at over $3,000. A passenger side view mirror was ripped off of a truck on Old Paris Murray Rd. and the inside of the truck was vandalized.
Arrests 6/26/08 James Patterson of Kent Rd. was charged with theft of property . Lacy Cane of Henry was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Jermel Kinley was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. Arrests 6/26/08 Katherine Green was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the seatbelt law. The theft of 2 handguns, 2 gun holsters, $300 in cash and a checkbook were stolen from an Elkhorn Nobles Rd home. Arrests 6/25/08 A press conference held at the Henry County Correctional facility Tuesday morning was in regard to a drug bust made by Officer Rickey Wade and K-9 Striker of the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force. The bust was a result of a traffic stop made on I-40 due to the vehicle following to close behind a truck. A search of the vehicle located 2 oz. of marijuana and $21,181.in cash - $7,000 on each of the 3 males who were arrested. Arrested were 40 year old Michael Harvell, 29 year old James Harvell and 29 year old Damien Jones, all of Nashville. According to Henry County Chief Deputy Randy Gean The three were in a rental car headed for Arizona where they could buy drugs cheaper and sell it here in TN for a large profit. Arrests 6/24/08 The Henry County Sheriff's office received a report of the theft of an air conditioner, 2 conveyor belts and an old broken down school bus from Foundry Hill Rd. A neighbor reported witnessing the bus being pulled down the road over the weekend. The report stated that the bus was sold to Copeland Metals for scrap. Arrests 6/19/08 Tuwanna Shane of McKenzie was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated domestic assault. Paris Police Officers were told that Shane had attempted to stab the complainant with a kitchen knife and hit her with a baseball bat at a Wood St. residence but was stopped by 2 men who were also at the home. McKenzie Police contacted Paris and stated they had Shane in custody. A search of Shane's vehicle located the knife and the baseball bat. Arrests 6/17/08 The Henry County Sheriff's office and the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force were involved in a large cash and marijuana seizure on Wednesday with Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin and Henry counties, all a part of the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force. Agent Ricky Wade and K-9 Striker who has recently been assigned to the task force and another agent, stopped a car for speeding on I-40 in Decatur County last week . Striker alerted officers on the vehicle and a search revealed $35,818 plus a pound of marijuana. 2 people from New York were arrested at the scene and taken to the Decatur County jail. The money was located in a suitcase along with vacuumed sealed bags. The 2 New Yorkers were headed to Arizona with the money to purchase more drugs. The two have prior drug trafficking charges in New York. The Sheriff's office is involved in the cooperative efforts of the task force with the task force paying all costs such as vehicles, equipment and gas, with local agencies paying only officers salaries. The seized money will go back into the task force funds and be split among the participating counties. Arrests 6/14/08 2 catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles parked at Richardson's Body Shop. Entry was made through the rear of the shop where an addition was being built on to the shop. Arrests 6/13/08 Donna Plano of Sloan Rd. was charged with domestic assault. David Sowers of Murray is being held without bond on charges of vandalism, possession of a scheduled 2 drug, possession of a scheduled 2 drug with intent and possession of dug paraphernalia. The arrest resulted from an incident at Paris Landing State Park when officers received a report of a party in a cabin at the lake on Sunday. Officers have been looking for him since then. Anthony Schaefer of Clayton Town Rd. was charged with felony evading arrest, reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been evading arrest for several days and was spotted in Henry when a patrol car passed the vehicle he was in. Arrests 6/12/08 Christopher Haynes of Henry was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Michael Pratt of Camden was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Ryan Frisch of Langford Rd. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. Ronnie Barham of Newbern was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. A wallet was reported missing from a kitchen table on Harvey Bowden Rd. The wallet contained 6 credit cards and cash. An attempted break in on White St. was reported. Pry marks were found on the door and a pad lock had been cut. Arrests 6/11/08 Daniel Carter of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with evading arrest and the promotion of the manufacture of meth. Lisa King and Jessie Wolf were charged with simple possession of a scheduled 4 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Bates of Market St. was charged with aggravated assault. The arrest occurred when officers were called to the market St. residence. Bates and Daniel Foss got into an argument and Foss was stabbed multiple times. More charges may be filed. Arrests 6/10/08 Scottie Goodman of Henry was Charged with manufacture of marijuana, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were called to a cabin at Paris Landing State Park. When they arrived they found Ashley Dollins passed out in a forestry unit and EMS had been called. When she awoke she told officers that they were having a dope party in the cabin over the weekend and that her boyfriend David Showers and her had a fight. She explained that Stowers wrapped a cord around her neck. Feeling threatened she pulled a knife and stabbed him. Ashley and Gregory Dollins were charged with possession of a scheduled 2 and 6 drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Drug and domestic assault charges were filed on Stowers.
Arrests 6/7/08 Vandalism was reported at a Blood River Church Rd. residence. Several yard ornaments had been turned over and trash spread over the yard. An ex-boy friend had been caught sleeping under a window at the home and is considered a suspect. A report from the Sheriff's office stated that a boat in Buchanan had the outboard motor, 4 gas tanks , and the steering system stolen out of it. Arrests 6/6/08 Byron Burgess of Onieda was charged with 2 counts of violation of probation. Charls Willliams of Willow Oak Rd. was arrested on a capias. Marshall Hutcherson of Allen St. was charged with public intoxication. A case of internet fraud is being investigated by local officials. A motor engine was purchased out of Florida over the ingternet an never dlivered.
Arrests 6/5/08 $50 in gas was siphoned from a truck parked on Cane Creek Rd. in Springville. 12 gallons of gas was also reported stolen from Camden Head Rd. Arrests 6/4/08 William Coleman of Alabama is being held without bond and was charged with 2 counts of violation of the bad check law and failure to appear. Timmyco of Thompson Ln. was charged with 3 counts of violation of the child restraint law and driving without a driver's license. Jazz Johnson of Huntington was charged with theft of property. Keila Kennon of Highland St. was charged with public intoxicatation. Arrests 6/3/08 The Henry County Sheriff's Office, the Paris Police Department and the Metro Crime Unit executed a search Unit at Cooper St. on Friday night . Marijuana, drug paraphernalia as well as 14 firearms were found at the residence. Jermel Kinley was charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Ricky Kinley was charged with unlawful possession of weapons and possession of a prohibited weapon. Cory Teague and Jennifer Teague of Curtis St. were charged over the weekend . The arrests occurred when officers attempted to serve warrants on Corey and were told by Jennifer that he was not home. She was warned that if she were not telling the truth she could be arrested. Corey was caught by officers trying to leave by the back door. After a short chase Corey was caught and charged with evading arrest. Jennifer was charged with accessory after the fact. Antwon Owens of Henry was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
