July 05 Arrests

 

Arrests   7/29/05

     Lois Cook of Puryear was stopped at Hwy 641 and 140 for DUI.

     On Wednesday afternoon Ellis Tharpe of Paris was arrested on Ruff St. for driving on a revoked driver’s license, simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and failure to appear to serve a jail sentence.  He is being held without bond.  Arrested with Tharpe was Markus Williams of Jackson.  He was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug.    

     Virgil Dilkington of Camden was charged with harassment by phone and placed under a $500 no contact bond.

     Tamika Bonds, Jennette Grigsby and Jeromy McBride were charged as fugitives from justice.  Bonds and Grigsby were placed under a $50,000 bond while McBride’s bond was set at $100,000.00.

     A purse containing 4 credit cards was reported stolen from a locked vehicle at Largo’s Bar on Hwy119.  There was no sign of forced entry.

      A resident of Arbor Place in Puryear was reported missing Thursday evening.  According to staff, she had been sitting on the porch but apparently walked off.  She was spotted at several places in the Puryear area.  When she was finally located, at around 2am Friday morning by Deputy Forrest, she stated she did not want to go back to Arbor Place.  The deputy transported the woman to Henry County Medical Center.

     3 drink machines at Towers Sports Center on Hwy 79 were broken into.  It is estimated that approx. $100 in change was taken from each machine.

Arrests  7/28/05

     Zachary Pallay of Paris was charged with driving on a suspended drivers license.

     Dennis Owens of Paris was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

     Hector Maze of Puryear was arrested for driving without a driver’s license.

     Kenneth Eubanks of Camden was charged with failure to appear out of Benton County.

     Jason Teague of Paris was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Clayton Youngblood of Paris was arrested on Mays Bridge Rd and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to manufacture schedule 6 drug.

     Kenneth Guyton of Paris was charged with aggravated robbery and is being held without bond.  The arrest occurred after Guyton wrecked his vehicle on Replogle Rd in Henry.  He was being pursued by Henry County deputies and Paris Police after he robbed the Pockets Food Mart on Mineral Wells.

     The theft of a CD player from a convertible parked at Wilson’s Auto Shop on Hwy 641N was reported Thursday.

     A resident on Hwy 140N reported that weapons had been hidden in an outbuilding on her property.  They were recovered by deputies.

     The theft of money from Paris Manor Nursing Home was reported.  According to staff money from fundraisers and yard sales that was to be used for resident’s activities was stolen from the facility. A blank check and cash in the amount of $360 was taken.

     Vandalism was reported at a residence on Belmont St.  Mustard had been used to draw a picture of male genitals on the vehicle trunk.

Arrests  7/27/05

     5 individuals were arrested in Puryear at Hwy 641N and 140E on Tuesday.  The subjects were said to have robbed a man and were armed.  All of the subjects are in custody, most being held without bond.  Arrested were Edwin Hall of Mansfield, Tamika Bonds of Paris, Jennette Grigsby of Paris, Jeromy McBride of Humboldt, and Jeffrey Patton of Paris.  Charges included theft of property over $1,000, unlawful possession of a hand gun, felony evading arrest, resisting arrest, simple possession of a schedule 6 drug well as possession of drug paraphernalia.  According to Henry County Sheriff’s Investigators more details and additional charges will be available Thursday.

     Other arrests included Kenneth Guylon of Paris for aggravated robbery.  He is being held without bond. 

     Carl Arnold of Big Sandy, who was charged with violation of probation.

   Norman Clouser of Springville is being held without bond for criminal trespassing.

     Harvey Bell of Big Sandy and Terrell Cowans of Paris are being held on a $20,000 bon for introducing contraband into a penal institution.

     Gary Royal of Hazel was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Vandalism to a motel room was reported by Howell’s Resort.  A window was broken out and a hole was found in the wall.  There was blood on the carpet and the mattress, which led officers to check with the Emergency Room to see if any one had shown up seeking medical attention from cuts or loss of blood.  No reports were received but a warrant has been issued for the person who registered for the room.

     Vandalism was also reported to 2 Wave Runners.  The owner stated that sometime after the 4th of July sugar was poured into the gas tanks.  Damage was estimated at $500.

     Stolen checks were reported to the Sheriff’s office.  The victim found 8 checks missing from his checkbook after an employee left his home.  3 of the checks had been forged for a total of $1,100.

Arrests  7/26/05

  

     Lenora Powers of Paris was placed under a $20,000.00 bond on charges of introducing contraband into a penal institution.

     A Dana employee reported vandalism to his vehicle that was parked by the OSC Building.  All 4 tires were flat from punctures.  He stated that the vandalism might have been done by 2 other employees who were mad at him.

      The Henry County Motor Co. on Tyson Ave. reported that an ’87 Toyota extended cab truck had been broken into.  A window was found broken out and 2 CD players, valued at $100 each were taken.  There was no damage estimate available. Attempts to dust for fingerprints were unsuccessful.

Arrest  7/25/05      

     Willie Russell of Paris was arrested Sunday on a warrant for burglary and aggravated burglary.

     Tabithae Craig of Buchanan was arrested for driving on a revoked license.

     James Campbell Jr. was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law.

     Theresa Shields of Henry was arrested at E.W.James for shoplifting.

   Robert Gwynn of Big Sandy was arrested for driving on a revoked license.

     Able Montiel of Murfreesboro was arrested at the Foxy Lady and charged with theft of property.

     Jody Todd of Dresden was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and drug paraphernalia.

     Melinda Serqua of Florida was charged with public intoxication.

     Gena Woods of Dyersburg was charged with DUI and underage consumption.  Robert Mauldin Jr., also of Dyersburg was charged with a 3rd DUI, driving on a revoked drivers license and violation of the implied consent law.

     Andrea Flood of Henry was arrested for domestic assault.

     Charles Johnson of Paris was arrested for a 2nd DUI, reckless endangerment, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, unlawful registration, speeding and driving on a suspended license.  The arrest occurred when Deputy Forrest and Deputy Wilson observed Johnson drive past Club Erotica without his headlights on.  He continued to speed down Hwy 77 driving on the wrong side of the curves in the road.  He ignored the officers’ sirens and flashing lights.  At one point he stopped in the road and turned off his lights, nearly causing the officers to run into his vehicle.  He then would speed up and then stop short in front of the patrol vehicle, an action he repeated several times.  He was finally stopped where his engine developed problems.  He jumped from his vehicle and was forced to the ground and cuffed, then taken to Henry County Jail.  According to the deputies he smelled of alcohol and open beers were found in the car.

     An accidental shooting was reported to the Paris Police by staff at the Henry County Medical Center ER.  A man with a self inflicted gun shot wound in his leg came to the hospital at around 10pm Sunday and stated that he had been inspecting a gun he was thinking about buying.  He had it in this lap and was inspecting the chamber when the handgun discharged firing a bullet through his leg just below the knee.    The subject admitted to officers that he was intoxicated at the time.

  

Arrests and Reports   7/24/05

     A juvenile was arrested Sunday when she was observed driving erratically by an off duty Paris Fireman.  The girl was charged with DUI, driving without a license and destruction of county property after she kicked a patrol car window.  2 male occupants of the vehicle were found sleeping in the car and released.

     Donald Cooter Jr., 30, of Paris was charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license and failure to appear Saturday.

      Randall Sellers of McKenzie was charged on Saturday with a DUI and violation of the implied consent law.

     Adam Dwyre of Ill. was arrested on Oak Grove Rd. and charged with DUI as well as violation of the implied consent law.

     On Friday Jeffery Wallace of McKenzie was arrested on Hwy 79S for a 2nd DUI

     Tommy Moore of Springville was charged with failure to appear.

     Keith Farris of Paris was placed under a $25,000 bond Friday for solicitation of a minor.

     Scott Miller of Paris was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Daniel Barnhill of Cedar Grove is being held without bond on 3 counts of failure to appear.

     Lillian Robinson of Cypress Rd. was charged Friday with failure to appear.

     Lisa McKnight of Camden was arrested at Jim’s Discount for drug fraud and is being held on a $5,000 bond.

     Michael Capps of Paris was charged with DUI Friday.

     A pontoon boat trailer was reported missing from a residence in Buchanan.

     A break-in on Hutson Ln. was reported to the Sheriff’s office over the weekend.  The back door of the residence had been kicked in and $59,000 worth of items were reported missing, including electronics, sterling silverware and diamond jewelry. 

     The cause of death of a 2-month-old baby this weekend is being call unexplained.  The mother stated that she gave the baby a 4am feeding and the child was fine.  When the grandmother checked the infant at 6am the baby was not breathing.  911 was called and EMTs attempted CPR.
