Arrests  7/29/06

     On July 27 the Henry County Sheriff's office with the assistance of Paris Police investigators executed a search warrant at 1100 Porter Norwood Rd. in Mansfield.  Officers located electronic scales at the residence along with  marijuana bagged for resale, 10 grams of methamphetamine bagged for resale and "ice", a potent form of meth as well as firearms including a stolen .45 cal. handgun.  A stolen Harley Davison was also recovered at the residence.

     Officers charged Paul M Wilson, a 43 year old white male and 40 year old white female, Tina Powell with possession of meth with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft of property and unlawful possession of firearms.  The 2 residents of Porter Norwood Rd. are being held on a $100,000 bond until they appear in court on August 1.

     Other arrests included Corey Buie of Blythe St. who was charged with 2 counts of evading arrest, reckless driving and simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.  The arrest occurred on Tyson Ave. when Buie went by police on a 'crotch rocket' motorcycle doing 100mph.  He was located at the Blythe St. residence where he had taken the bike inside and changed his cloths in an attempt to evade police.

     Juan Garcia of Jones Bend Rd. was charged with DUI.

     Tracy Brown of Wynn St. was arrested at Harrison Meadows for driving on a revoked driver's license.

     Corey Puckett was arrested on a warrant for theft of property .

     Ozma Long of Rison St. was charged with simple assault.

     Kenneth Tharpe of N. Market St. was arrested at Park Village Apts. and held without bond for parole violation and 2 counts of failure to appear.

     Jennifer Minyard of Hwy 77 was charged in court win 5 counts of forgery.

     Justin Long of Jones Bend Rd. was arrested on Washington St. and charged with failure to appear and simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

     Danny Pierce of Reynoldsburg Rd. was charged with failure to appear.

     Josh Hughes of Alamo TN was arrested for failure to appear and violation of a court order.      

     A case of identity theft was reported.  The victim was contacted by Pay Pal to verify a transaction in Kat Man Do, Nepal.  The matter is being investigated by CID and the Federal Trade Commission. 

     

Arrests    7/28/06

     Joseph Williamson, 42,  of Buchanan was held without bond on charges of violation of an order of protection and assault on a police officer.  When deputies arrived at the Swan Bay Rd. residence to serve the warrant for violation of the order of protection at around 10am Wednesday Williamson was reported to refuse to open the door and stated that the  warrant was not legal.  He then barricaded the door with unknown objects," ranting" that he was the last Christian  alive.  Director Lowe and Lt. Crosser arrived on the scene to talk to Williamson and he refused to talk to them.  Sheriff Bumpus arrived on the scene and called the General Sessions Judge, Snyder who told Bumpus that the warrant was legal.  Talks to get Williamson to surrender were unsuccessful and he told deputies, "Do what you have to do and I will too,"  A ram was used to break down the door and Williamson then threw an unknown liquid chemical on Deputy Milton Webb.  Officers  then threw chemical weapons into the residence which Williamson threw back at them.  Williamson finally surrendered and was taken to the Henry County Correction facility.  

Arrests  7/27/06

     Tamara Crutcher of Dover was charged with violation of the bad check law.

     Michael Phillips and Steve Dykman of N. Market St.  were arrested by David Archie and charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $500.

     Deputies were attempting to serve outstanding warrants on Charles Williams of Washington St. when he fled from the residence into the woods.   He was pursued by deputies and officers of the Paris PD but is still at large.  

     A report of animal problems was filed with the sheriff’s office.  The victim stated that her neighbor’s dogs were getting into her trash on Clayton town Rd and that they had killed 10 of her chickens, valued at $12 each.

 

Arrests   7/26/06

     Charles Dunlap was charged with domestic assault and public intoxication on Tuesday.

     Derrell Ward of Williams St. was charged with domestic assault.

     Donna Prokop of Thompson St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Mark Flanagan of Highland St. was charged with violation of the bad check law.

     Lucky Davis of Springville was held without bond for domestic assault after he broke a beer bottle and a guitar, cutting his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter when he discovered that the police had been called.  When deputies arrived they had to cut a chain across the drive to gain access to the residence.

     Donna Allen of Jackson St. was arrested for DUI and violation of the implied consent law.  The arrest occurred on Tyson Ave. after Allen almost hit a patrol car that was waiting for a traffic light to change.

     A diamond cluster ring, valued at $500 was reported missing from a Springville residence.

 

Arrests   7/25/06

     Suzanne Smith of Memphis was charged with assault on Sunday.

     Edward Kennedy of Porter St. was arrested at Bottoms Up for public intoxication.

     Tiffany Deal of Bon Aqua TN was arrested at Matt’s Pub on Saturday and charged with public intoxication.

     Anthony Valenzuano of Minor St. was charged with domestic violence.

     Shelby Stallings, 19, of Puryear was charged with underage consumption at Bottoms Up on Saturday.

     2 dogs were reported stolen from a victim walking o Little Benton Rd.  The victim stated that she was offered a ride in a pick up truck if she would give the driver directions back to Hwy 641S.  When she got out of the vehicle at 641 and went to get her 2 dogs, one a terrier mix and the other a medium sized mixed breed, the driver sped off and didn’t come back with her dogs.

     Pleasant View Resort reported a break in.  A window was pried open and a case of beer, cigarettes and $50 in cash stolen.

     Stereo equipment, tools and a toolbox were reported stolen from a vehicle that was left parked on Pebles St. in Henry.  The vehicle had been parked   at McFadden’s Auto but had been pushed to the Pebles St. location resulting in a broken taillight.

     2 vehicle radiators, one worth $571 and the other $1,463, a miter saw and a grinder was reported stolen from a tool shed on Travis Rd.

 

Arrests   7/22/06

      James Greer of Camden was charged with violation of probation.

     Michael French of Nashville was arrested on Main St. in Puryear by Puryear Police Chief Paschall for failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Arrested with French was Jeanetta Robles of Puryear who was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Jessie Brinkley of Tanglewood Ln. was  charged with public intoxication.

     Carol Owens of Springville was arrested at 3 Oaks on Hwy 69S for aggravated assault and public intoxication.  Owens was involved in a fight at City Limits Bar when she would not leave at closing time and began throwing whiskey and beer bottles.  Deputies located her at 3 Oaks Bar where she was arrested.

      Jonathan Herren of Dunlap St. was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation.

     A suspicious house fire was reported Thursday morning on Ben Smith Rd.  Henry Volunteer Fire Department was able to contain the fire.  The fire was determined to be suspicious and the area sealed off.  The TN state arson squad was contacted.

     An accident on Reynoldsburg Rd. was reported at around noon Friday.  A vehicle with 2 passengers and a mail truck were involved.  The vehicle rolled over when it hit the mail truck but the victims were pulled out and transported by EMS.

 

Arrests   7/21/06

     Kevin Doede of New Bethel Rd was arrested and held without bond on charges of  Especially Aggravated  kidnapping and aggravated burglary.       

     The arrest is the result of a full blown investigation by the Paris Police Department stemming from an incident that occurred late on July 17th.  According to Investigator Ricky Watson of the Paris PD, officers responded to a possible burglary call from a Spruce St. residence.  When they arrived the victim stated that 4 individuals had entered the home, beat him with a hand gun and duct taped him to a chair.  While in the home they took a large sun of money, then left, leaving  him taped to a chair.  Investigator Watson stated that it is believed that the victim knew the 4 subjects and this was not a random act of home invasion. More arrests are expected in the case.

     Other arrests include Stephanie Tucker of Old Orchard Rd. who was arrested  for criminal responsibility of another.  Tucker's boyfriend had outstanding warrants and she denied knowing where he was.  He was at the residence and was able to escape from the residence without capture.  

Arrests   7/20/06

     Robert Tharpe Jr. of Mansfield was arrested on a warrant for harassment, a class A misdemeanor.

     A fire was reported at a residence on the 218 By pass at around 1amWednesday morning.  The home was fully engulfed when the Paris Fire Department arrived bringing 2 trucks and 6 men.  Oakland Volunteer Fire Department also responded with 1 truck and 4 fire fighters.  A resident suffered sever burns all over his body and was taken to the Henry County Medical Center and then transported to Vanderbilt.  According to firefighters on the scene the cause of the blaze it would be hard to determine the cause since the roof had collapsed.  The resident stated that he had been at a bar in Paris.  When he returned home he lit a cigarette and the house exploded.

     Another fire was reported at a mechanics shop on Old Paris Murray Rd. Tuesday evening.  The shop was filled with old oil and other flammables.  The CID is investigating the fire. 

 

Arrests   7/19/06

     Thomas Hollingsworth of Mansfield was charged with domestic assault.

     Jacob Pofford of Springville was held without bond for domestic assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

     James Arnold of Hwy 77 was charged with violation of probation.

     Louella Johnson of Washington Court was charged at the jail with violation of probation.

     Chris Porter of Hwy 69A was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

     A report of stalking was received by the Sheriff’s office.  The complaint came from a Puryear woman who stated her ex-boyfriend was following her, calling her and had sent a picture of himself with a pistol pointed at his head.

     A chainsaw, valued at $200 was reported stolen from a vacant house on Guthrie Rd.

     Several Items, including a purse were reported stolen from the gym area of the Paris Civic Center.  Security tapes are currently being viewed.

 

Arrests   7/18/06

     Shauna Mullins of Harrison St. and Mark Vestal of McMinnville were arrested over the weekend at Grove Apts. for domestic assault.

     Michael Gerhart of Market St. was arrested for a 2nd DUI and driving on a revoked driver’s license.

     Samantha Lockhart of Jackson was stopped on Hwy 79 for DUI, violation of the open container law and violation of the implied consent law.

     Teresa Miller and Mark Flanagan of Highland Street were arrested for forgery.

     Melissa Doyle of Greenfield TN was charged at the Henry County Jail on a warrant with promotion of the manufacture of meth.

     Justin Miller was held without bond for absence without leave.

     Billy Smothers of Huntingdon was charged with underage consumption, violation of the open container law.

     Keith Young of Cook St. was charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license.

     Lacey Chappell of Dresden was stopped on Hwy 79 in Henry and charged with DUI and violation of the open container law.

     Ashley Sullivan of Huntingdon was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Jerry Melton of Henry was held without bond for aggravated domestic assault.

       Bridget Cox of Buchanan was charged with violation of the bad check law.

     Crashauanya Hartsfield of Market St. was charged as a fugitive from justice.

     Stacy Coleman of Hill St. was charged with public intoxication.

     Michael Miller of Florence Alabama was held without bond for failure to appear.

     Brad Reeves of Puryear was held without bond for domestic assault.

     A break in at New Liberty Church on Hwy 119 was reported.  A glass window was broken and a door forced open.  Nothing was found missing.

     Vandalism to mailboxes on Cliffty Village Ln, Old Union Rd. and Lakeview Dr. were reported to the Sheriff’s office over the weekend.

 

Arrests   7/15/06

     Reginna Taylor of Thomas Cove was charged as a fugitive from justice on Friday.

     Michael Merrell of Puryear was arrested on Main St. by Puryear Police Chief Paschall and charged with DUI.

     Adam Evans of Cornerstone Dr. was held without bond on a warrant for failure to appear.

     Michael French of Blythe St. and Dyllan Sager of Glisson Rd. were arrested on Memorial Dr. on Thursday.  French was charged with public intoxication and Sager was charged with underage consumption.

     James Nance Jr. of Puryear was charged with public intoxication at Fresh Market Restaurant.

     Shauna Hart of Walnut St. was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation and possession of a legend drug.

     Kerri Shoemaker of Belmont St. was charged with violation of probation.

    Theft of a generator from a side panel van on Tyson was reported.

     A gooseneck trailer, valued at $6,500 was reported stolen from a field on Hwy 77.  The trailer had been filled with lumber that the thief unloaded.   

    

 

Arrests   7/14/06

     In a press lease from the Henry County Sheriff’s office it was announced that on July 12th deputies executed a search warrant at 200 Roberts Rd. in Cottage Grove.  Officers located several items used in met production at the residence including finished meth.  Charged were Michael Wolf, a 31-year-old white male and Kenneth Harazak, a 54-year-old white male with promotion of manufacture of meth.  The Henry County Sheriff’s office was assisted by investigators from the Weakley County Sheriff’s office and the Martin Police Department.

     Other arrests included Jessica Herron of Henry and Brandon Gream of Old McKenzie Hwy  who were arrested at the Old McKenzie Hwy. residence where Herron was found to be hiding.  Herron was held without bond and charged with evading arrest, failure to appear, criminal trespassing and a pick up mittimus out of general sessions court.  Gream was charged with false report after repeatedly denied that Herron was in the residence and a search found her hidden in a bedroom.

     Pamela Lockhart of Hollow Rock was charged with violation of probation out of circuit court.

     David Bonnell of Camden was arrested for theft of property under $500.

     Staci Cooper of Camden was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Wendy Lambert of Highland St. was arrested on state warrants for 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, aggravated assault and criminal responsibility for the conduct of another.

     David Johnson Jr. of Washington St. was arrested for criminal trespassing.

     Sidney Brown of Wynn St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Mark Mosher of Buchanan was charged with criminal attempt to commit theft.  The arrest occurred when he attempted to use information belonging to his stepfather to obtain money from Western Union.  When Western Union called back to confirm the transaction the theft was discovered.  

     Matthew Treber of Wood St. was charged with indecent exposure by Paris Police.  The arrest occurred when a female on the walking trail of Memorial Park informed officers that a male was following her and exposed himself and masturbating.  Treber admitted to masturbating but said he was not pursuing the walker.  

 

Arrests   7/13/06

     David Charneck of Puryear was arrested on a warrant for violation of parole.

     The sheriff’s office received a report of theft of items and furniture from a rental trailer on Girl Scout Camp Rd.

     Complaints of harassment from the parents of children charged with underage consumption were received by the sheriff’s office.  The victim stated that parents had approached her in several publics places  such as restaurants and the courthouse.

     An accident with injuries was reported by the THP on Mansfield Rd.

     The Paris Police Department is investigating a report of theft of an MP3 player from the parking lot of McCartney’s.  The victim stated that he was breaking up a fight in the parking lot and dropped it when an unidentified female picked it up and took off with it.

 

Arrests   7/12/06

     Jessica Biggs of Mason Lane was arrested on a warrant for theft of Property, a Class A felony.   

     A vehicle on Woodlawn Acres was broken into.  Taken were speakers, valued at $250 an amp values at $150, a $220 mobile phone and a pocketknife.

     Vandalism to a home on Obion Lane was reported to the Sheriff’s office.  A rock that was thrown through the window was found at the scene and BB holes were found in the side of the residence. 

 

Arrests  7/11/06

     On Saturday, July 8th at 7:50am officers with the Henry County Sheriff’s office responded to 1900 Old Paris Murray Rd. after receiving a 911 call that a stabbing had occurred.  Initial investigations found that 48-year-old Paula Cox had been stabbed by Gary Lynn Tharpe, 36, of Warren St.  The assault took place during a domestic argument.  Tharpe left riding a bicycle before officers arrived.  At 7:52 am Tharpe was located and arrested on N. Market St. and was charged with aggravated assault.

     Cox suffered a stab wound to the chest area and was transported to Henry County Medical Center and then airlifted to Vanderbilt.  She is in stable condition.  Tharpe is being held without bond.

     Other arrests over the weekend included Michael Crass of Clayton Rd. who was charged with burglary, theft of property over $1,000 and less than $10,000.  The arrest stemmed from a break in and burglary at White Works Motor Sports on Hwy. 641 on Thursday July 6th.

     Christopher Rogers of Robinson Dr. was arrested on Tyson Ave. for possession of a scheduled 4 drug.

     Corqun Travis of Ogburn St. was charged with domestic assault.

     Rauon Boone 22, of Springville was arrested at Bottoms Up Bar for public intoxication.

     Teresa Boyd of Aden St. was charged with public intoxication.

     Jeremy Samples of Jeffries Crt. was charged with criminal trespassing.

     Rickey Watkins of Huntingdon was charged with public intoxication.

     Jason Smith of Hwy 190 was arrested at Ridgeway Funeral Home and held without bond for felony escape.

     Thomas North of Dorch Ln. was charged with failure to appear.

     Sharon Williams, Robert Williams of Irvine St. and Gloria Gamy of Big Sandy were arrested on Travis Rd. for possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Herbert Pillows of Jim Merrell Rd. was charged with failure to appear to do a jail sentence.

     Crystal Bratton of McKenzie was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation.

     Steven Teague was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Brittany Bryer of Buchanan was arrested for DUI at Lakewood School on Hwy 79.  The arrest occurred when deputies spotted the car in the school parking lot Sunday night.  Upon arriving the officers found the car in gear and running with the driver’s foot on the break, passed out and held in place by the seat belt.

    

Arrests   7/8/06

     David Oakley of Locust St. was charged in court with failure to appear.

     John Kirkendall of Puryear was charged with violation of probation.

     3 were charged in a meth lab bust on Petti John Rd. in Henry Thursday.    Jack Herron, Jack Herron Jr. and James Legace were all on the premises.  The lab was discovered due to the chemical smell coming from the residence.  Various ingredients and paraphernalia used to produce meth were found located on the property.

      A burglary and theft of a ’96 Suzuki Nina motorcycle was reported from White Works Motor Sports on Hwy 641.  A window had been broken out to gain entry and a lot of blood was on the scene.  Also taken was the cash register, which was found outside the business.    Natural Ice beer bottles were left at the scene as well. The bike, valued at $3100 was located in Puryear where deputies found the bike in a building next door to a suspect in the case. 

 

Arrests   7/7/06

     The Henry County Sheriff's office received a complaint of an alleged assault from a Springville citizen.  The victim stated that a neighbor had run over his dog and didn't stop.  When confronted the neighbor  then threatened him with a knife.  The dog owner told deputies that the man said he would kill him.  The neighbor claimed that he was confronted by the man and felt threatened and he did not know that he had hit the dog.  The matter was turned over to the C. I.D. for further investigation.

     Trespassing complaints were received from a Mitchell Rd. resident who stated that a 4-wheeler has been driving through one of his fields and having parties with bon fires in the field.

     A lawn mower valued at $75 was reported stolen from a garage on Hill Rd.

Arrests   7/6/06

     Crystal Greer of Hwy 77 was arrested Wednesday on 3 counts of violation of the bad check law.

     Derrick Clark of Brewer St. was charged with violation of probation out of general sessions court.

     James Glisson  Jr. of Reynoldsburg Rd. was charged with leaving the scene of the accident and violation of financial responsibility law.

     Franklin Holcomb of Paris was held without bond for domestic assault.

     Ginger Lowe of 641N  was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license and violation of financial responsibility law.

     Tashica Porter was arrested on Riggins St. for disorderly conduct.

     Steven Kilpatrick of Chapel Hill Rd. was arrested on Minor St. for aggravated assault.

     A case of road rage was reported to the sheriff's office.  The complainant stated that the subject had run him off the road near Had-A-Call Grocery.  He turned around and followed the vehicle.  When it stopped the driver threatened him and said that next time he would 'get him later'.  There was no physical contact according to deputies.

     A barn fire was reported on Jim Merrell Rd.  and the Paris Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Myatt Rd.   

Arrests   7/4/06

     Rickie Henderson of Harrison Ln. was arrested on Greer St. for simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Misty Duncan of Porter St. was charged at the jail with vandalism of property.

     Norman Clouser of Morton St.  was arrested on a warrant for violation of sentence.

     Sailor Simpkins of Memorial Dr.  was charged with violation of probation.

     William Zimmerman of Timber Dr. was charged at ‘Bottoms Up’ with public intoxication.

     Justin Miller of Buchanan was arrested on Mineral Wells for driving on a suspended driver’s license as well as a warrant for failure to appear.

     Brandon Boyd of Hwy 77 was charged with aggravated assault.

     Scotty Nash of Friendship TN was arrested on Sunday by TWRA officer Clay Riley for DUI and violation of the implied consent law.

     Kera Freeman of Old McKenzie Hwy. and Carrie Stambough of McKenzie were arrested on Hwy. 218 Sunday and charged with possession of legend drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The arrests occurred when deputies, who had been checking the road with radar guns, saw the 2, in separate vehicles, pulling off 218 by Raymer and Goode.  When asked what they were doing one girl stated that she was sick and pulled over.  According to reports both were acting very nervous.

 

Arrests  7/01/06

     Tina Deleach of Medina TN e was charged in court with vandalism over $500.

     Kimberly Chrisp of Spirit Ln. was arrested for a 2nd driving on a suspended driver’s license.

     Debbie Andrews of Kent Rd. was charged at the jail with burglary and criminal trespassing.

     Steven Teague of Pitt St. was charged with driving on a suspended drier’s license.

     Jerry Strickland of Williams St. was held without bond for domestic assault.

     Dennis Newberry of Campbell St. was arrested for public intoxication.  The arrest came after a complaint of a prowler was received.  He had gone up onto a porch and was knocking on the door of a residence in Paris.

     Debbie Chenoweth of Old McKenzie Hwy. was charged in court with failure to appear.

     Daniel Sommersville of Dobbins St. was arrested at General Dollar on a warrant for vandalism.

     Jenemonte Shaw of Mandalay St. was charged at the jail with vandalism and assault.

     Andrea Shannon of Russell St. was arrested for theft of property under $500.

     A chainsaw valued at $250 was reported stolen from Kendall Rd.

     A $100 Sirius satellite receiver and a $300 I-pod were reported stolen from a truck parked at  Swayn Point.  The owner stated that he had locked the truck and hid the key under one of the tires.  When he returned the key was gone the truck was open and the items were missing.
