Arrests  1/19/08

     Daniocholas Caldwell of Mimosa St. was charged with violation of an order of protection.

      Mark Swor of Swor Rd. was charged with contempt of court.

     Alesha Tharpe of Harrison Meadows was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.   

     Michael Case of Hwy 69N was stopped on Whitlock Rd. where he was charged with a 3rd DUI.

     Rosalind White of Wynn St. was held without bond for aggravated domestic assault and vandalism.

     Theft of a rifle, jewelry box and social security cards was reported from a residence on Perry School Rd.

     Attempted theft of scrap metal from Lakeview Dr. was reported.  A neighbor saw 2 white males attempting to steal the metal.  The owner was informed who showed up and made the would be thieves remove it from their trailer and restack it.

     A burglary was reported at Petti John Creek Rd. was reported.  The residence had been entered through the back door which was pried open with a crowbar from a shed on the property.  Taken was shot gun, 22 rifle, chainsaw and 4 knives.  Items were valued at $1300.  The crowbar will be checked for fingerprints. 

Arrests  1/18/08

     On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Henry County Sheriff's office, Paris Police Department, Metro Crime Unit and the TN Highway Patrol conduced a roundup of offenders who were charged with 'Promotion of Manufacture of Methamphetamine'.  The arrests stem from an investigation conducted by the Metro Crime Unit.  The offenders are accused of purchasing  pseudoephedrine  from pharmacies for the purpose of meth production or reckless disregard of it's intent.  The offenders are charged due to the fact of the quantities of the pills purchased or the attempt to go to several different pharmacies on  any certain day.  Charges were filed on 16 individuals with law enforcement currently arresting 13 of the 16 persons.

  Additional charges were placed on Christy Ward for possession of a scheduled 2 controlled substance by Sgt. David Powell of the Henry County Sheriff's office.  While attempting to serve arrest warrants at 245 Fairview St. in Paris officers did locate chemicals and items that had been used in the production of  meth and finished meth at the residence.  A Haz-mat unit was called to the scene.  Additional charges are going to be filed  against Dale Rogers and Kristy Rogers of 245 Fairview St. in Paris for manufacture of meth and drug paraphernalia.  Those charges will be filled by Sgt. John Brewer of the Paris PD.

     The Henry County SO and the Paris PD would like to thank the local pharmacies for their cooperation with local law enforcement in their attempt to combat meth production in the area.

     Those arrested include Stephanie Tucker of Old Orchard Rd., Brenda Helms of Memorial Dr., Dustin Norwood of N. Porter St.,  Stephen Grande, 64, of Henry, Jennifer Hisey of Big Sandy.

     Other reported arrests for the day were Jeremy Purkart of Shell Academy Rd. for driving on a revoked driver's license, reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.

     Samuel Cross of Reggor Ln. was charged with 4 counts of misapplication of contract.

     Crystal Wofford of Thompson St. was charged at Wal-Mart with shoplifting.  

 

Arrests  1/17/08

     Silas Brantley of Puryear was charged by Paris Police Chief Paschall for simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Richard Oladeji of Poplar St. was charged with  driving on a suspended driver's license and failure to report an accident.

     Kent Young of Buchanan was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug  and possession of crack cocaine.  The arrest occurred when he was observed leaving a known drug house on Wynn St. without his seat belt on.  A search of the vehicle by officers found the small bag of marijuana and a rock of crack.

Joyce Mack of White St. was charged with driving on a suspended drivers license.

     Eric Adams of Brown Ln. was held without bond for failure to appear.

     Christopher Haynes of Henry was charged with  Failure to appear.

     William List of Rowe School Rd. was held without bond for domestic assault.

     Amanda Morris of hwy 641N was charged with forgery.

     Carol Owens of Springville was held without bond for domestic assault.

     JoAnn Grayson of Deerfield Ln. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.  Arrested with her was Stephanie Mitchell also of Deerfield Ln. was held without bond for failure to appear and criminal trespassing.

     Samantha Cowan of Manley St. was charged with 5 counts of forgery and theft of property under $500.

Johnny Newberry of Milan was charged with violation of probation..

       

 

     

Arrests  1/16/08

     On Jan 14 the Henry County Sheriff's office assisted the Benton County Sheriff's Office with a search warrant  at 130 Lakeview Manor Rd. in Springville, the home of Walter F Davis.  The warrant was for stolen property that Benton County was looking for.  Benton County investigators said that a home in their county had been dismantled with siding, lumber, hot water heater, central heat and air units, wiring, fixtures and just about everything needed to build a house taken.  Investigators had received information that Davis was in possession of the materials.

     Officers searched and located several of the items at Davis's home with some construction being done with the lumber and heat and air units already hooked up. Several thousand dollars of items were recovered of the $10,000 worth of items stolen.

     Davis who was currently out on bond in Henry County for drug charges was charged with theft of property over $10,000.  The Henry County Sheriff's Office, the Benton County Sheriff's office, Metro Crime Unit and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all assisted in delivering the search warrant.

     Sheriff Monte Belew stated, "This is just another cooperative effort between county sheriff's offices to fight crime and apprehend criminals that cross county lines."

Arrests  1/15/08

     Sam Reeves of Hartsfield Rd. was arrested at his residence on Friday and charged with resisting arrest, child neglect/abuse, manufacture of a scheduled 6 drug, possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.      Reeves had been evading arrest since last week.  Officers were informed that he was staying at his residence on Hartsfield Rd. in Puryear.  When officers came to the house he would hide under the house which he entered through a trapdoor in the residence.  He ordered food and cigarettes over the phone and when the food was delivered officers that were concealed inside the delivery van jumped out and tasered Reeves as he attempted to run into the woods.   He  was dressed in camouflage and standing by the wooded area where he was hiding from officers.  Upon his arrest he stated the arrest was Sweet" and he was glad it was over.

     Anita Wilson of Jones Bend Rd. was charged with failure to appear.

     Raymond Watkins of Murray was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.  

     Emma Hutson  was charged on  E. Washington St with driving without a driver's license.

     Austin Chenoweth of Irvin St. was underage consumption and public intoxication.

     Ellis Thompson of Nashville was charged with a capias out of Davison County.

     Renicia Williams of Jackson was charged with violation of probation.

     Tonya Clark of McKenzie was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

     Samuel McDaniels of Green Meadows Dr. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license.

     Dustin Norwood of Porter St. was charged with vandalism.

     Terry Russell of Vandyke Rd. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license, violation of the seat belt law and violation of the open container law.

     Charles Williams of Willow Oaks Rd. was held without bond for contempt of court.

     A fire was reported in a shop building in Cottage Grove.  The owner had been working in the building earlier in the day and had a fire in a wood burning stove.

Arrests  1/11/08

      James Grooms of Briar Patch Lake Rd. was charged with criminal littering.  He had been observed throwing out empty beer cans each morning.

     John Webb of Riggins St. was arrested at Wal-mart for Shoplifting, assault and resisting arrests.

     Melissa Higgins of Manley St. was stopped on Tyson Ave. and charged with DUI. violation of the financial responsibility law  and driving without a driver's license.

     Jeffrey Spurgeon of Springville was charged with violation of probation.

     Tammy Scott of Springville was charged with vandalism under $500.

     Rachel Young of Guthrie Rd. was charged with aggravate assault and theft of property.  The charges resulted when Young entered a residence uninvited and started removing food from the cabinets and refrigerator.  When confronted she attempted to attack the complainant with a claw hammer.

Arrests  1/10/08

      Eric Adams of Brown Ln. was arrested on Wynn St. and charged with simple possession of a scheduled 2 drug.

     Amy Gilbert of S. Highland St. was  charged with theft of property and violation of probation.

     Marcus Olive of Greer St. was held without bond for theft of property.

     Stephanie George of Big Sandy was held without bond and charged with failure to appear to serve a jail sentence.

     Betty Banks of Buchanan was charged with vandalism.

     Charles Johnson of GA was charged with failure to appear. 

     A one vehicle accident with an entrapment was reported on India Rd.  No fatalities were reported.

Arrests  1/9/08

     Robert Lewis of Poplar St. was held without bond and charged as a fugitive from justice out of California.

     Davis Steverson of Spirit Lane was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

     Ramigh McDugal of Hwy  69S was charged with domestic assault.

     Perry Ainscough of McDonald St. was held without bond and charged with altering serial numbers.

     Larry Sides of Palmersville was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law.

     Ronald Shandrson of Westside NY was charged with driving on a suspended driver's licenses. 

Arrests  1/8/08

     Donald Jackson, 58, of Birds Creek Rd. was charged with disorderly conduct.  Jackson, an elected constable from the 1st district  was not on official duty at the time of the incident.  Officers responded to a burglary call at  Jackson's  Birds Creek Rd. residence where after an  investigation of the call he was charged with disorderly conduct.  

     Jessica Flippen, 18,  of Buena Vista TN was held without bond and  charged with domestic assault.

     Brandi Mayo of Routon St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

     Ralph Barnard of Tharpe Lane was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked driver's license.

     Nathan Tucker of Jeffery Lane was arrested on a warrant for A.W.O.L.

     Tiffani Stober of Murray was arrested on Hwy 641 by Puryear Police Chief for simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

     Marvin Diggs of Aden St was charged with violation of an order of protection.

     Laura Taylor of Routon St. was arrested at HCMC for public intoxication.

     Brian Kennon of Guthrie Rd. was charged with domestic assault. 

     Shannon Robinson was arrested on a warrant for theft of property.

     Lisa Barnhart of Old St. Route 76 was held without bond for domestic assault.

     Cheryl Stubblefield of Murray  was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  Arrested with Stubblefield on Caledonia St.  just shortly before midnight Saturday night was Dwight Burton who was charged with criminal attempt to committee 2nd degree murder.  Officers were called to the residence about a man with a gun.  When they arrived they were met by the complainant who was very scared and stated that Burton had fired off several rounds and one of the bullets had passed through his pant leg.  The officers observed the gunshot holes in his pants, and discovered several gun shot holes in the walls of the residence that had been fired from outside and holes in several pieces of furniture in the house.  Found in the yard were shell casings.  The officers reported that only one of the people present was cooperative, most giving false stories such as the noise came from kids shooting off fireworks.

     The Sheriff's Office was asked to investigate a suspicious fire on Cliffty Rd. by Mansfield Fire Chief Wayne Webb.  The property owned by Larry A Watson had burned but no building on the property was burnt.  It was determined that the fire  could have been accidental.     

Arrests  1/5/08

     Perry Ainschough, 44, of McDonald St. in Puryear was held without bond on a warrant for charges of solicitation of a minor and solicitation/ sexual  exploitation  of a minor. 

     Ralph Barnard of Tharpe Ln. was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license and simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug.

     Ronald Pate of McKenzie was charged with failure to appear. 

     Kendall Hurt of Washington Court Apts. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.     Daun Russell of Vandyke Rd. was arrested on Lake St. for possession of a weapon ( a hand gun) and possession of a prohibited weapon.

     Thomas Zwirlein of Reynoldsburg Rd. was charged with 2 counts of violation of the bad check law.

     Suzanne Axley of Camden was charged in the  Wal-mart parking lot with theft of property over $500 and driving on a revoked driver's license.

Arrests  1/4/08

     A fire at the Livestock Barn on Tuesday is under investigation according to Fire Chief Cox.  So far there have been 4 fires in the last few weeks.

Robin Bevier of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with driving on a canceled driver's license out of Arkansas, possession of a scheduled 3 drug and violation of the light law.

     Josh Sanders of Henderson Dr. was arrested on a warrant and charged with theft of property over $1,000.

     Bueben Gurule of Dorch Ln. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license.

     Chad Huggins of Nashville was held without bond on a warrant for  charges of harassment.   

Arrests  1/3/08

     Damien Stone of Big Sandy was stopped at the Roadhouse Bar and charged with assault.

     Ellis Tharpe of Nashville was arrested on Hwy 641S for felony evading arrest, felony possession of a firearm and a 2nd driving on a revoked driver's license.

     Joshua Scribner of Mayfield KY was charged with public intoxication at Hwy 69A and the 218 By pass.  Arrested with him was Shawn Largent of Old Union Rd. who was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a deadly weapon.

     Roy Somerville of Mandalay St. was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation out of circuit court.

     Michael Tharpe of Wynn St. was charged with aggravate burglary.

      4 were arrested  on Windermere Drive  New Years Day.  Bryan Spence, 18, of Buchanan was charged with theft of property under $500, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and underage possession and consumption.  Daniel Giesler of Beach Dr. was charged with theft under $500 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Brandon Bryant, 19, of Morningside Village was charged with underage possession and consumption and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Lauren Adams of Springville was charged with underage possession and consumption and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Also arrested was a 16 year old.  The arrests occurred when officers received a report of juveniles running in the road.  While  in route officers received a report of a break in on Windermere Dr.  A neighbor told  the officers that the 3 boys had entered a fishing boat at a residence and taken items.  A tackle box was found in the truck of one of the youths, a boat seat in another as well as a set of new waders.  Also found was a street sign.
