Arrests 12/31/08 Joshua Conger of Mulderick Rd was charged on a warrant with violation of probation out of general sessions court. Rudy Garcia of TX was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license on Hwy 641S by Trooper Cox. Virginia Angell of John Lee Dr. was held without bond and charged with failure to appear on charges of domestic assault. Jennifer Shaddon of Memorial Dr. was charged with theft of property. James Horath of Elkhorn Nobles Rd. was charged with harassment. James Taylor Jr. of Washington St. was charged with DUI on Wood St. A fire on Sunday that destroyed a 2 bedroom house on Camp Tyson Rd. is still under investigation for the cause of the fire. No one was home and no one was injured in the fire. Arrests 12/30/08 Carol Morse of Grove St. was charged with public intoxication. Kenneth Thoresen of Buchanan was held without bond and charged on a mittimus out of juvenile court. Neco Allen of Memphis was charged with driving on a suspended drive's license. Gaither Tharpe of Riggins St. was charged with public intoxication. Billy Harding of Puryear was stopped on Hwy 140 and charged with DUI. Eugene Walls of TX was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. James Lemonds of Jones Bend Rd. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Arrested with him was Jason Conger of Mulderink Rd. who was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Raeal Edwards of Benton Ky, Chelsea Miller of Murray were arrested on Hwy 641N and charged with underage possession and consumption of alcohol. Officers received a tip that a stolen vehicle was on Terrapin Creek Rd. The red 87 Chevy was reported stolen out of Mississippi. Arrests 12/27/08 Tiffany Wilson of Martin was charged with theft from merchants. James Turner of Murray was charged with shoplifting. Christine Burner of Dresden was charged with shoplifting. Gurther Tharpe of Riggins St. was charged with public intoxication. James Ketchum of N. Market St. was charged with simple domestic assault. Carol Mores of Grove St. was charged with public intoxication. Jaquelrne of Fairview was charged with public intoxication.

Allferd Thompson of Reynolds St. was arrested on a warrant and charged with hindering secured credit. Robert Craig of Springville was held without bond and charged with felony aggravated sexual battery. Arrests 12/24/08 In a recent report released by the Henry County Sheriff's Office it was announced that an average of 159 prisoners were held at the Henry County Correctional Facility for the month of Oct. 73 were state prisoners , who generated $72,290. in revenues from the state of Tennessee to the Henry County General Fund .

Joe Melton of McKenzie was stopped on Hwy 79S and charged with DUI, driving on a revoked driver's license and violation of the implied consent law. Harold Hutchens of Dover was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Leander Hutcherson of Campbell St. was charged with a second driving without a driver's license . Kristie Rushing of Springville was charged with vandalism. Donald Barnnett of Springville was charged with failure to appear. Michael Youngblood of Younger Ln. was charged with a third driving on a suspended driver's license. Melissa Jennings of Knights Inn was charged with possession of a scheduled 2 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Arrested with her was Michael Evens of Tyson Ave. who was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 2 drug and drug paraphernalia. A third person arrested with them was Tracie Stallings of Foundry Hill Rd. who was arrested at Knights Inn and charged with failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia. Roy Kennon of McKenzie was charged with public intoxication, simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug, David Johnson of Rison St. was arrested on a warrant and charged with failure to appear. Clint Raymer of Crutchfield Ln. was charged with evading arrest and DUI. Kelly Shelton of Cedar Grove Rd. was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug with intent, possession of legend drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. . Scott Marcell of Camden was charged with driving on a cancelled driver's license. Christopher Norwood of Cottage Grove was arrested on Blythe St. and charged with a second DUI. Willie Russell of Rison St. was charged with aggravated burglary. Arrests 12/20/08 Kurt Stafford of Head St. was held without bond for simple assault. Michael Edwards of Old Paris Murray Rd was charged in court with violation of probation. Jonathan Travis of Mandalay Rd. was charged with theft of property over $500 at Goody's. Arrests 12/19/08 William Brown of Rabbit Creek Rd. was charged with domestic assault and held without bond. The Paris Police Department received a report of a theft of guns from a vehicle while it was parked at Taco Bell. The 2 guns were valued at $2700. Arrests 12/18/08 In a press release issued by the Henry County Sheriff’s office the Sheriff stated that on Monday Dec. 15th Sgt. Calvin Dumas, School Resource Officer at Grove School, initiated an investigation that lead to a large prescription drug seizure and three juveniles being charged. Three juveniles were detained at Grove School and 20 Darvocet and 38 Hidrocodone pills were seized on school grounds. The investigation continued off campus with the assistance of the Metro Crime Unit. Also seized from one of the juveniles residence were 25 5mg Morphine, 22 Lunesta, 24 5mg Diazepam, 16 2mg Diazepam, 59 Diphenoxylate, 27 400mcg Fentanyl, 30 200mcg Fentanyl, and 59 Darvocet. Two Juveniles were also charged with Burglary and Vandalism of the now closed Paris Manor Nursing Home. Sheriff Belew stated, “SRO Dumas and the school system worked cooperatively to rid the schools of these dangerous drugs. This is why we have school resource officers and Sgt. Dumas is to be commended.” A total of 320 pills were seized during the investigation.

Leeta Johnson of Old Paris Murray Rd. was charged with shop lifting at Wal-Mart. Kurt Stafford of Head St. was held without bond and charged with vandalism. Charles Barber of Hwy 140East was charged with violation of probation. Raymon Gusman of Camden was charged with DUI , violation of the implied consent law and underage possession and consumption. Riccardo Austin was charged with driving without a driver's license. James Vandyke of W. Wood St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license and violation of the light law. Travis Rudd of Caledonia St. was charged with theft of property under $500. Kenneth Smith of Dunlap St. was charged with DUI on Tyson Ave. Jermel Kinley of Cooper St. was charged with a 3rd driving on a suspended driver's license. Willy Wood of McKenzie was charged with public intoxication. Lacy Stokdale of Kent Rd. was charged with failure to appear. Deputies issued 12 citations over the weekend for speeding, some as fast as 69mph in a 45mph zone on Hwy 79, 218 By Pass and Hwy 641. Arrests 12/13/08 Thomas Burgess, 44, of Buchanan was charged with public intoxication. Jessica Herron of Park Rd. was charged with violation of probation out of Circuit Court. Jeffery Johnson of Wynn St. was charged with violation of probation. Nancy Laxton of Hwy 119 was arrested at the Paris Landing Inn and held without bond for domestic assault. Christine Powell of Buchanan was held without bond and charged with violation of the worthless check law. An attempted burglary on Cypress Rd. was reported to the sheriff's office. Pry marks were found on the bedroom door and dogs had been let out of their cages in the house. There were also tire tracks in the yard. Nothing was found missing. An attempted break in was reported at Johnson's Chapel. Pry marks were found on the front door but entry was not made. Arrests 12/12/08 Tarrence Hutcheson of Harrison St. was charged at the Vo-Tec center with evading arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm and as a habitual motor vehicle offender. Kimberly Snead of Loren Ln. was charged with assault. Donald Cooter of Manddy Rd. was held without bond and charged with domestic assault. Harry Whitfield of Powell St. was charged with an attachment out of Juvenile court and charged with contempt. Jeffery Johnson of Walnut St. was charged with assault. James North of Dresden was held without bond and charged with failure to appear. Wesley Yates of Waverly was charged with promotion of the manufacture of meth. Billy Kendall of Cottage Grove was charged with violation of the open container law, violation of the light law and violation of registration.

Dianna Frost was charged at the Henry County jail with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell or deliver and possession of a fire arm while committing a felony. Linda Bratton of McKenzie was charged with DUI on Radford Lake Rd. Michael Stephens of Tumbling Creek Rd was charged in Henry with DUI, simple possession of a schedules 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. David Cook of Hidden Acers Rd. was arrested at Little General and charged with public intoxication. Angela Barger of Puryear was charged with theft of property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lilah Shults of Murray was charged with speeding, possession of a scheduled 6 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia by Puryear Police Chief Paschall on Hwy 641N. Also charged were Steacy Miller of Murray and Nicole Miller of Murray who were charged with underage possess/consumption and criminal impersonation. Windy Fallis of Big Sandy was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Christopher Sullivan of Webb Rd. was held without bond and charged on an attachment out of General Sessions Court. Jeffrey Neese of McKenzie was charged at the Henry County Jail with introduction of a controlled substance into a penal institution. Daniel Western of Pilgrim Rd. was charged with shop lifting at Wal-Mart. Judith Forest of Buchanan Rd. was charged with public intoxication. Brooks Singleton of E. Wood St. was charged with violation of probation. Adam Hightower of Camden was charged with theft under $500 at Wal-Mart. Brian Knight of Cottage Grove was charged with assault. A death by asphyxiation was reported Nov. 30. According to Sheriff's office reports the victim, took medications, fell asleep under an electric blanket and . The mattress caught on fire and he suffocated. A break in was reported on 3 bridges Rd. The residence was entered through a back door. According to the owners the house hade been broken into8 times before. Coffee was found missing and the thief used the phone and has received several return calls.
