Arrests 12/29/07 Theft of scrap metal from a shop on Hwy 79N was reported to the sheriff's office. The scrap was valued at $2,500. Several guns including a shot gun, a pistol and 3 rifles were reported stolen from a camper parked on land on Deerfield Ln. The owner stated that the camper could not be seen from the road. Arrests 12/28/07 Brandon Medcalf of Hwy 79S was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law and driving without a driver's license. Kyle Dunlap of Gleason TN was charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. Michael Tharpe of Mandalay Rd. was charged with criminal trespassing. Arrests 12/27/07 Judy McGhee of Ridge Dr. was charged with DUI on Lakeway Circle. Michael Carroll of Dresden was charged with forgery. Angelica Tharpe of Harrison Meadows was charged with theft under $500. John Davis of Old Paris Murray Rd. was held without bond for assault. Shawn Wilkerson of Murray was stopped on Hwy 641 by Puryear Police Chief Dale Paschall for underage possession and consumption. Porter Tharpe of Pearl St. was charged as a fugitive from justice. Audrey Willis of Mandalay Was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault. Russell Johnson of Logan St. was held without bond for violation of probation. Justin Blankenship of E. Wood St. was stopped on Spruce St. and charged with DUI. Michael Henry of Henry was charged with robbery and introduction of a controlled substance into a penal institution and possession of a scheduled 2 drug. Henry was picked up on a warrant for burglary. When he was being booked he stated he had no drugs. A search at the jail found 43 grams of cocaine in his shoe. Larry Wilson of Rowe School Rd. was arrested on Hwy 641 by Police Chief Paschall and charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Keno Palmer of Rison St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. On Christmas Eve Jorvis Taylor of Humboldt was charged with public intoxication. James Gates of Green Hill Est. was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of the implied consent law. Steven Fishinghawk of Mocking Bird Ln was held without bond for aggravated assault, evading arrest and reckless endangerment. William Ekman and Jerojmy Cree of New York were arrested at Sunrise Inn and charged with public intoxication. Dennis Bush Jr. of McKenzie was held without bond and charged with domestic assault, aggravated burglary and assault. Several cases of vandalism were reported Christmas Eve. Homes were hit with pink paint balls on Antioch Harbor Rd and Bull Durham Rd. Arrests 12/22/07 Hope Carson of Hwy. 77 was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug, violation of the window tint law and speeding. he arrest occurred on Hwy 54 when officers clocked her doing 72mph in a 55mph zone. After receiving permission to search the vehicle a green leafy substance was found on the floor boards which she told officers belonged to a friend that had been in the car this week. When she was searched at the jail a plastic wrapper containing marijuana was found in her pocket which she said did not belong to her. Charles Pruett of Cowan St. was charged with violation of probation. Robert Rick of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with violation of probation. Shelia Ray of Irvine St. was charged with 2 counts of forgery. Thomas Zwirein of Louisville was charged with violation of the bad check law. Tramaine Tidwell of Blythe St. was charged with failure to appear. George Freeland of Milan TN was held without bond and charged with failure to appear. Arrests 12/21/07 Charles Mims of Dyersburg was held without bond as a fugitive from justice out of KY. Byron Burress of Oneida TN was held without bond for failure to appear Jorvis Taylor of Humbolt was held with out bond for violation of probation and evading arrest. The arrest occured when officers went to Damascus Rd. Shelteter to serve an active warrant for violation of probation on Taylor. He pulled away from officers and ran for the back door. Officers used pepper spray but he ran for the door again andtook off running. He was apphrehended a short time later. Arrests 12/20/07 Jody Melton of Thompson St. was charged with theft of property under $500. Joseph Eaker of Head St. was charged in court with failure to appear. Also charged in court with failure to appear was Terry Lackey of Wilson St. Thomas Ellison of Rivers TN was charged with failure to appear. Vickie Staggs of Camden was charged with harassment. Mandy Robinson of Springville was charged in court with aggravated domestic assault. Theft of a DVD power cord, sterling silver beads and a movie from a mail box was reported to the sheriff's office.

Victor Litchfield of Old Paris Murray Rd. was charged with public intoxication. Alfred Shafer of Lake St. was charged with domestic assault. Larry Washamm of Camden was stopped on Buchanan Rd. and charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Tabitha Singleton of Crestview Manor was held without bond for failure to appear to serve sentence. Nickelette Fields of Old Paris Murray Rd. was stopped on India Rd. and charged with DUI, violation of the open container law and failure to yield (running a stop sign) Cody North of Old Paris Murray Rd. was stopped on Hwy 641N for DUI. Jeremonte Shaw of Mammoth Cave KY was stopped on Wynn St. for criminal trespassing. Byron Buress of Oneida TN was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear to serve sentence. Andrew Keene of Buchanan was charged with violation of the bad check law. Andrea Winding of Brewer St. was charged with violation of the worthless check law. William Moore was charged with public intoxication. Officers received a call of a man on the Paris Landing Bridge. When officers arrived they found Moore sitting on the side of the highway. Arrests 12/18/07 At around 2:30pm Friday Officer Ricky Wade stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 77S. Officer Wade had observed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. After Wade found that the driver was driving on a revoked driver's license, the driver , Russell Johnson, struggled, resisting arrest and then evaded Wade. Officer Wade called for back up and then pursued Johnson on foot through a wooded area at Hwy 77 near Vandyke Rd. Officers from the Paris Police Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Henry County Sheriff's Office were shortly on the scene and the area sealed off. The 24th Judicial Drug Task Force OH-58 Helicopter, piloted by Milt Young searched the area just ahead of officers on the ground. The suspect was located by the Task Force helicopter who directed officers to his location where Officer Rodney Littleton apprehended Johnson. After the scene was cleared there was approx. 80 rocks of crack cocaine and powered cocaine found. Wade charged Russell Johnson of Bells TN with evading arrest, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, criminal impersonation, driving on a revoked driver's license. He was also wanted on warrants out of Lexington TN and Henry County. A passenger in the car, Melissa Gray of Benton KY, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle, a 1998 Oldsmobile, was seized as well as $484 in cash.
Arrests 12/15/07 Anthony Tharp of Wynn St. was charged with possession of a scheduled 2 drug with intent, speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license. Arrested with Tharpe was Todd McClain of Jones Bend Rd. Ext. who was also charged with possession of a scheduled 2 drug with intent. The arrests occurred when the vehicle they were in was clocked doing 40 mph in a 30 mph zone on Allen Ave. The vehicle finally stopped on Depot where officers searched the vehicle and found a baggie containing 13 individually wrapped rocks of crack cocaine which weighed a total of 4.7 grams. Also seized were 3 cell phones and the Mazda they were driving. Neither would claim the narcotics. McClain had been stopped earlier in the day by Paris Police for driving on a suspended driver's license. At that time no drugs were found in the car. Other arrest included Laury McCrary of Dresden for failure to appear. A break in was reported on Maple St. in Henry. The victim stated that he awoke to find a white male by his bed. The man asked for the money that the victim owed him. The victim denied any knowledge of owing him money and the intruder then hit the victim in the head with the phone and said he would be back.
Arrests 12/14/07 Zachary Farris of Belmont St. was charged with burglary and theft of property. Jerry Melton of was held without bond for domestic assault. Michael Chapman of E. Blythe St. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Sherry Logan of Ft.Campbell was stopped on E. Antioch Rd. and charged with DUI and light violation. A 14ft aluminum john boat was stolen from a yard on Hwy. 79. The trailer was not taken. Also stolen from a driveway on Hwy 79 was the diesel fuel from several pieces of equipment. Approx. 100 gallons were taken. Arrests 12/13/07 Jason Nickell of N. Market St. was held without bond for violation of probation Stephanie Mitchell of Lone Oak Rd. was charged with theft under $500 and simple possession of a scheduled 4 drug. Cedric Harris of Huntingdon was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license and violation of the window tint law. Samantha Woodard of N. Market St. was charged with failure to appear. Christopher Rick of Hill Rd. was charged with aggravated assault. Ronnie Barnhart of Memorial Dr. charged with criminal traipsing. Casey Hooter of Buchanan was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Jonathan Peach of Hwy 69S was charged with violation of probation and held without bond. Samantha Barnett of Dunlap St. was charged with domestic violence. Daniel Mockabee of Winn St. was charged with theft of property over $1,000 and burglary. A fire was reported to a small size pull behind RV that was parked at Blackhawk Ln. The owners live in Texas. The theft of a GMC Suburban was reported. Valued at $10,000 the vehicle was taken from Spirit Lane.
Arrests 12/12/07 Justin Clayton of Willoughby R. was held without bond for violation of probation. Gina Merrell of Powell St. was held without bond for failure to appear to serve sentence. Robert McKnight of Elkhorn Rd. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for violation of the seat belt law. 2 guns were reported stolen from a residence on Old Blake School Rd. The guns were taken from a tool box in the back of a pick up truck parked at the residence Arrests12/11/07 Michael Kirkin of Florida was arrested in the parking lot of the Spiders Web and held without bond for violation of an order of protection. John Eaker of Poplar St. and Joseph Eaker of Poplar St. were charged with aggravated assault. Edward Odom of Murray was arrested by the 641Club and charged with vandalism. Dustin Hilliard of McKenzie was charged with underage possession and consumption. Brian Scott of W. Wood St. was charged with domestic assault. Jarred Murphy of Ill was arrested in the parking lot of the Spider Web and charged with underage possession and consumption. Zachary Hagan of Henry was stopped on Hwy 69A and charged with DUI , underage possession and consumption and violation of the implied consent law. Tyler Boudreaux of Murray was charged by Puryear Police Chief Paschall with underage possession and consumption. James and Carol Foster of Hwy 69A were charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. Vickie Staggs of Eva Rd. was arrested in the Cherokee Trailer Park and charged with criminal trespassing. Spencer Morse, 18, of Gleason was charged with underage possession and consumption. Christina Dunn, 19, of Murray was charged with underage possession and consumption.
Arrests 12/8/07 On Friday Nov. 30, as a result of continued investigation into the Nov. 24th shooting death of Loren Fritts, Jonathan Ross Peach was charged with 1st Degree Murder. Peach was originally charged with accessory after the fact and Thomas Chapman with first degree murder.. Zachary Farris of Belmont St. was charged with aggravated assault. Brandon McCadams of Smith Heights Rd. was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. Mark Wade of Springville was charged with simple possession of a scheduled 6 drug. A 5 year old Harrelson student was left on a school bus. The boy's parent became worried when his sister arrived home and he did not get off the bus. The child was found on the bus and driven home. A washer was reported stolen from a rental property Diggs Rd. Arrests 12/7/07 Ray Ryan of Hazel was held without bond for violation of probation and as a fugitive from justice out of KY. James Williams of Caldwell St. was charged with violation of probation and a pick up mittimus for public intoxication, a pick up mittimus for driving on a suspended driver's license and on an attachment for contempt of court. Charles Mimms of Dyersburg was arrested on a warrant for theft over $1,000 John Davis of Old Paris Murray Rd was held without bond and charged at HCMC with domestic assault and child abuse. A juvenile at HCHS was charged with possession of a scheduled 6 drug. A bag containing several smoking pipes with a small amount of marijuana was found in the girl's purse. Paris Police responded to an alarm at Wildwood Garden Center. When they arrived they found that an attempt to break in to 2 doors had been made without success. Shortly after that, another alarm went off at the store. This time the thieves broke in, destroyed a motion censor, cut the wires to the alarm , cut the plastic on the green house and vandalized 2 cash registers but could not break into them. Nothing was missing from the center. The owner stated that no money is left at the store over night. Arrests 12/6/07 Rosetta Pace of Hwy 69S was held without bond for failure to appear out of Circuit Court. Kristina Schab of Huntingdon was charged with violation of the bad check law. Wanda Brewer of Old McKenzie Hwy was held without bond for failure to appear to serve a sentence. Deborah Owens of Tyson Park Apts. was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Ralph Barnard of Tharpe Ln. was charged with sexual battery by an authority figure. Rhianmnon Watson and Richard Watson of Guthrie Rd. were charged with domestic assault. Jacqueline Huchens of Dunlap St. was charged with violation of probation. Katrina Haynes of McKenzie was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. A 25 horse power outboard motor was stolen from a boat parked at a residence on Hwy 79N.
Arrests 12/5/07 A report of aggravated animal cruelty was investigated by the Paris Police Department. A cat on Memorial Drive was found dead in a canvas Duffel bag that had been taped shut. A neighbor had been attacked by the cat. The owner stated he did not know what to do with the cat after it had bitten the neighbor and put it in the bag where it suffocated. Arrests 12/4/07 James Cook of McClenonsville was arrested and held in the Carroll County Jail for failure to appear in Henry County for registration violation. James Cooley of Paris was charged with public intoxication on Hwy 77. Sylvia Belyea of McKenzie was stopped on Hwy 140 for DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Melissa Bucy of Patterson St. was stopped on Memorial Dr. and charged with DUI. Patricia Harris of Travis Boyd Rd. was stopped on Brewer St. and charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Toni Belasic of Paducah was stopped on E. Wood St. and charged with a 2nd DUI, reckless endangerment and possession of a scheduled 4 drug. Darrian Allen of McKenzie was arrested on a warrant had held without bond on charges of failure to appear. Earnest Herron of Routon St. and Fredia Gallon of were arrested at the Bowling Alley and charged with burglary. A caregiver was accused of stealing $475 from the account of his mother. A 32 cal. automatic gun was reported missing from a dresser drawer on Robin Hill Loop. Arrests 12/1/07
On 11-30-07 at 8:00 a.m. Paris Police Department received a call of a vehicle
burglary at Eastside Enterprises. Upon
Paris P.D. arrival it was determine that the Henry County Sheriff’s Department
patrol vehicle had been broken into. The
vehicle had been left overnight at Eastside Enterprises for repair. The suspect(s) had broken the driver’s side window out and
ransacked the vehicle. The
suspect(s) also broke into the trunk of the patrol vehicle and stole two
firearms that belonged to the Henry County Sheriff’s Dept.
It is believed that the suspect(s) drove and left abandoned a 1992 gray
Chevy Blazer on the parking lot of Eastside Enterprises.
The 1992 gray Chevy Blazer was stolen out of
Nashville, TN between midnight and 5:00 a.m. on the same date.
The suspect then went next door to the parking lot of A-1 Auto and broke
into and stole a 1994 GMC red pickup. The
entire incident is being investigated by Paris P.D., Henry County Sheriff's
Dept., the Metro Crime Unit and Metro Nashville Police Department. The Henry County Sheriff's Dept. is offering $1,000.00 reward through the Henry County Sheriff's Dept. Hot Line for any tips that would lead to the recovery of the firearms and arrest of the suspect(s). The Henry County Sheriff's Dept. Hot Line number is 642-0929. |
